At 12:20 AM on January 23, 2023, mid shift patrol officers and AFD medics responded to the 4800-block of Spenard Road regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian collision wherein one pedestrian was struck, and the driver had fled the scene. The victim, 77-year-old Ronald Williams, was transported to a local hospital where he subsequently died from his injuries.

With the help of a Crime Stoppers tip, the suspect driver was identified as 25-year-old Monique M. Maldonato. On July 2, 2024, APD Traffic Investigators obtained a felony arrest warrant for Maldonato for the charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Render Aid.

Monique Maldonato is 5’03” tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Her current location is unknown; efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful thus far. In May 2024, The Alaska Bureau of Investigation Technical Crime Unit conducted SOR compliance checks in Soldotna where it was determined that Taylor Bishop (age 38) of Soldotna was actually not in compliance with SOR registration requirements. An investigation determined that Bishop had been lying about his location, employment, and social media accounts since 2020. An arrest warrant was issued for Bishop on fifteen (15) counts of Failure to Register as a S*x Offender. On 06/28/24, Bishop was contacted in Anchorage and arrested on the outstanding arrest warrant without incident. Bishop was remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Center on $500.00 bail.

FPD is seeking information regarding the whereabouts of CARLEEN LAURA CHARLIE. Charlie is an absconder from the Northstar Center halfway house. Charlie was convicted of murder in 2015, and after serving 9 years she was sent to the Northstar Center on June 4th, 2024.

After being brought to into Fairbanks for a medical appointment on June 25th, Charlie did not meet back up with her Northstar Center case manager as scheduled.

ORIGINAL: On June 25, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to reports of an attempted sexual assault. Initial indications are that at approximately 11:20 AM, an adult female’s vehicle broke down near the intersection of Northern Lights Boulevard and Wisconsin Street. While standing outside her car, an adult male walked up to the driver, grabbed her, and physically assaulted her. The victim was able to pull away; the male left the area on foot.

Police have identified the suspect as 35-year-old Timothy L. Bogus-Erwin. He now has a felony warrant for Attempted S*xual Assault in the First Degree, Attempted S*xual Assault in the Second Degree, and Indecent Exposure in the Second Degree. He also has a misdemeanor warrant for Harassment related to a separate incident (APD Case 24-19512).

APD Special Victims Unit (SVU) Detectives have three asks. The first is that if anyone witnessed the assault on June 25th, and they have not yet spoken to police, for them to please call Detective Thomas at 907-786-2628.

Police believe Bogus-Erwin may have victimized others. Detectives’ second ask is that if anyone believes they may have been assaulted, sexually assaulted, or otherwise inappropriately touched by Bogus-Erwin, to call Detective Thomas at the above listed number.

From the Attorney General’s Office

June 20, 2024, (Anchorage, AK) – On June 6, 2024, an Anchorage grand jury indicted 27-year-old Daneljohn Capid Santos on 15 counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

This case was investigated by the Anchorage Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit. From Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 3, 2023, Santos is alleged to have sexually abused three children when he was caring for them as a babysitter. The three children were all under the age of 13 at the time of the alleged abuse.

Santos is in custody at Goose Creek Correctional Center. If anyone has information about Mr. Santos, this case or any other potential victims, please call 311, the APD non-emergency dispatch line, reference APD Case No. 23-40668.

The Anchorage District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case. If convicted at trial, Santos faces up to 157.5 years of imprisonment.

The charges in the indictment are only allegations and not evidence of guilt. Mr. Santos is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
