Nikolaos (Greek: Νικόλαος) is a common Greek first name which means "Victory of the People" or "Victor of People". The root words are Niko, which stems from the name of the greek goddess Nike, who personified victory, and Laos, the Greek word for people.The word Nikolaos is often associated with ancient conquerers of people or nations, and most often those victories were forged on the edge of swor

ds and the suffering of many. But here, and whenever you think of this little magazine, or zine, let it stand for the victories of the people found within these pages. Creation is our sword, and our victory is over the feelings within us that push us to create. Every finished painting, every final draft of an essay, every developed photograph is a flag that we have planted in it’s subject, And we can not rest until we have expressed everything within us, until the brilliant flags of our creations stand firmly in the feelings which inspired, or enslaved us, to create.
