Gloria's body was found on a truck stop lot in Springfield, Missouri 27 years ago today. 1997. Tomorrow is her birthday. I met up with Gloria Barnes's brother, John Knighton, last week. He made the trip to meet with the Springfield Police Department's new Cold Case Unit detective assigned to her case.
"It's encouraging. He told me he's completely reviewed Gloria's entire case file from front to back. He's actively doing something on this case," said John.

CrimeCon Nashville did not disappoint. I am inspired by the strength of victims, the stories they shared, and their dedication to making this world a better place no. matter. what. Within 15 minutes of getting there, Kerri Rawson (with a film crew behind her) came up to me and asked me a question about seminar start times. I froze. There are so many things I would have loved to tell her — like how I admire her amazing resilience and unwavering commitment to helping get answers concerning Dennis Rader’s crimes. And then during a session she revealed new information found in her dad’s diary. I know she doesn’t have a choice but to move forward…but wow.
There was John Douglas (Mindhunter), the couple from American Nightmare (Netflix), John Ramsey with the latest push for DNA testing and legislation on JonBenet’s case… and so many more. I met fellow creators and families of the missing…like Lisa Landry from Missouri City, Texas. She’s been looking for her son for more than 3 years. That bulletin board was FULL when we left. SO MANY PEOPLE SIMPLY VANISH!! Heartbreaking.
Season 2 of The Toll is coming. 💗
