A quick overview of the Clift Farm "developer fee".

WHY?
The fee was agreed upon to recoup $45M in public infrastructure costs which were covered by the Clift Farm developer (Breland Companies). Such costs are typically covered by local municipality (city or county) tax payer funding.

HOW LONG?
The fee will last for a 50-year period (from 2019), and a 30-year period for Costco (from 2024).

HOW MUCH IS THE FEE?
The fee is 3% for all CF businesses, with the exception of Costco, which is 2% for 30 years (from 2024) and Publix, which is exempt.

WHAT IS THE TAX + FEE STRUCTURE?
4% State Tax + 1.5% County Tax + CF Developer Fee. Grocery items are subject to a lower 3% State Tax rate. As CF is located within unincorporated Madison County, there is no city tax (typically 3.5%) collected within CF with the exception of Publix (Madison City).

The Tuscaloosa-based restaurant offers a variety of cuisines, mainly focusing on fresh seafood, hand-cut steaks, and award-winning sushi. Changes will bring a Starbucks, plus local Easter t concepts --- Interstellar Pizza, Comet Coffee, & Rocket City Express?

The restaurants will be operated by Tailwind Hospitality, who operates concessions at more than 50 regional airports across the country.

Last chance to book a baking class with The Bakingtist. The local cooking school will be permanently closing in December 2024.

It's a difficult post, and one I never wanted to have. But, ultimately, The Bakingtist will be closing, in its entirety, December 2024 or sooner.

I have posted my final classes for the year, and I am really hopeful you will come join. I promise to put my whole heart into them, and I really think you will be happy with your decision to come.

I am so lucky that I have gotten to spend so many years pursuing my big ol' dream. Thank you everyone for making it possible. While this is difficult, I truly am looking forward to my next chapter. I am excited to launch back into a career in STEM, and to spend more time with friends, family, and having fun.

Some notes:
-We are very much hoping for a new tenant as soon as possible, so please spread the word of my available space. Because of the nature of a new tenant coming in, I may need to close sooner than anticipated (if a tenant is able to get in quickly).
-If you have a gift certificate or credit, please try to use it with these classes or equipment/supply purchases.
-I plan to have a final bakery garage sale the last weekend of December where I will be liquidating mostly everything. I will have lots of supplies for home and industry bakers and cooks.
