𝓑𝓮𝓪𝓾𝓽𝓲𝓯𝓾𝓵 𝓚𝓪𝓸𝓱𝓼𝓲𝓾𝓷𝓰
The Kaohsiung Music Center is an icon of Kaohsiung City. It has dazzled visitors with amazing fireworks, laser light shows, and other events. The Kaohsiung Music Center represents Southern Taiwan's renaissance as the center for popular music and international music culture.

Taiwan's Executive Yuan approved the project in 2009. The music center was opened on October 31, 2021. The architecture was designed by a Spanish firm and the design represent waves, highlighting Kaohsiung City as a harbor city.

𝗗𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗧𝗼𝗼
A local dog rescue refuge has been devastated by Typhoon Gaemi. While the refuge lost everything, the dogs are safe thanks to the help of caring Kaohsiung friends.

Many people were affected by the storm and need help. But the refuge, Gone to the Dogs 狗救星 - 吉兒．麥考倫, is run solely by Jill McCallum. She devoted 22 years and most of her income to helping the abandoned dogs.

Jill has helped more than 600 dogs over the years. She is selfless, but now 𝙎𝙃𝙀 needs our help to rebuild so the dogs can have a home.

Brace for the largest typhoon to hit Taiwan in 𝟴 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀! It's been reported that sadly one person died from a falling tree in Kaohsiung.

⚠️ At 5:59pm, Kaohsiung City Government announced the suspension of work and classes tomorrow, Thursday 7/25.
⚠️ Typhoon Gaemi took a slightly southerly track and is expected to make landfall tonight, edging it closer to Kaohsiung City.
⚠️ Rain and wind is expected to pick up starting around 8pm tonight.

⚠️ Sirens will blare the start and end of the exercise.
⚠️ If outside, seek cover inside a building.
⚠️ MRT will run, but passengers can not exit the station.
⚠️ If driving or riding a scooter, stop and pull off to the side.
⚠️ If on the highway, driving is permitted.

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗞𝗮𝗼𝗵𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹

Every year, the fifth day of the fifth month of the Lunar Calendar holds special meaning. This day commemorates the hero, Yu Quan, for his love of country. Celebrations include Dragon Boat Races, eating Zhongzi, and balancing the egg.

There will be 161 teams this year. Come out to one of the biggest festival all year and cheer for your favorite team.

The Northern Kaohsiung district of Ziguan (梓官區) is a true suburb: quiet and peaceful. All that is going to change this weekend with the "Jouckan Bay" Festival. Come out to enjoy the music, food, alley tours, and DIY activities.

There is a beach cleanup event in June, followed by a foodie hunt, organized by a caring community member Ting Ting. This is a great way to make new friends and help the Kaohsiung community by volunteering.

The popular Penghu International Fireworks Festival kicks off in May. From Kaohsiung City, you can take the ferry or book a flight. The Xiying Rainbow Bridge is walking distance from the ferry, as well as the main street serving unique Penghu seafood dishes.
