One of the highlights of my trip around Gyeongsangbuk-do (aka Gyeongbuk) was getting to learn how hanji (한지; Korean paper) is made. I was 100% the annoying geek asking a ton of questions and trying to take as many photos as possible.
There are several places you can learn about hanji, so even if you don't make it to Andong Hanji, check out the Hanji Culture and Industry Center in Seoul (한지문화산업센터) and Wonju Hanji!
Discover what it's like to make mulberry paper by hand at Andong Hanji, one of roughly two dozen traditional Korean paper mills that remain in Korea.
