APSA Chairman Nigel Beatty and the Committee would like to thank the APSA Members who participated in person, online and who sent their apologies for the 10th Annual General Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association. Without Members commitment and involvement, the Association would not have the strong voice that it has, and going forward APSA is looking forward to engaging more closely with all our members and growing the Asia-Pacific superyacht community. We hope that there will be an opportunity to catch up in person in the coming year and in the meantime again thank you again for your support. At The 93rd Academy Awards, history was made as Chloé Zhao became the first Chinese woman and the first woman of color to be awarded Best Director for her work on "Nomadland," which also took Best Picture.
Her acceptance speech:
"When I was growing up in China, my Dad and I used to play this game. We would memorise classic Chinese poems and texts, and we would recite them together and try to finish each other's sentences.
"There's one that I remember so dearly, it's called the Three Character Classics. The first phrase goes... 'People at birth are inherently good.' Those six letters had such a great impact on me when I was a kid, and I still truly believe them today.
"Even though sometimes it might seem like the opposite is true, I have always found goodness in the people I met, everywhere I went in the world.
"So this is for anyone who had the faith, and the courage to hold on to the goodness in themselves, and to hold on to the goodness in each other, no matter how difficult is to do that.
"And this is for you. You inspire me to keep going."

100-Year-Old Theatre gets transformed into a stunning Bookstore
Tucked away in Barrio Norte, Buenos Aires is a beautiful shop that every bookworm would love to visit, called El Ateneo Grand Splendid. It is built within the almost 100-year-old Grand Splendid Theater, which opened in 1919.
The premises were later converted into a movie theater and eventually, in 2000, it was transformed into the El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookstore, which currently welcomes over one million book lovers each year.

“As the coronavirus pandemic slowly loosens its grip, theaters, orchestras and opera companies across the USA are heading outdoors, grabbing whatever space they can find as they desperately seek a way back to the stage.
The newest sign of cultural rebound: On Tuesday, New York City’s Public Theater said that it would seek to present Shakespeare in the Park once again this summer, restarting a cherished city tradition that last year was thwarted for the first time in its history.”

While you’re talking, one of your team members is typing loudly on their computer; another team member has noisy children in the room with them; and another team member is slurping their cup of tea.
Although all team members have their eyes on you and look like they are listening to what you are saying, you feel put off and lose your train of thought – the background noise is too distracting.
However, if all “noisy” team members muted their microphones while you spoke, you would feel as if your voice was being heard. The stage would be yours.

Nicholas Atkinson is the founder and lead facilitator at Punch Presentations. He gained a bachelors degree in English and Drama from Brunel University in London before training as an actor at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
As an actor, Nicholas has performed in plays at The Bristol Old Vic, National Theatre On Tour, York Theatre Royal, The Mill at Sonning and The Criterion Theater in (London’s West End) to name but a few.
Nicholas moved to Hong Kong in 2010 to work for Faust International where he became the Creative Director. After four years with Faust, Nicholas set up Punch Presentations Ltd after being invited to work with a number of Barristers on their performance and communication skills.
Nicholas was awarded the HKELD Best Actor award for his performance as Macbeth in 2015 and the Distinct Actor Award at the 8th Hong Kong Theatre Libre Awards in 2016.
