Neutron stars are formed when a massive star runs out of fuel and collapses. The very central region of the star – the core – collapses, crushing together every proton and electron into a neutron.

On April 22, 1972, during the first extravehicular activity of Apollo 16 at the Descartes landing site, astronaut John Young put the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) through a high-speed test known as the "Grand Prix" run. This frame from the motion picture film, taken by Charles Duke using a 16mm Maurer camera, captures the moment. The LRV was utilized in the final three Apollo missions—Apollo 15, Apollo 16, and Apollo 17—between 1971 and 1972, allowing astronauts to explore several miles away from their lunar landing sites.

There is a neutron star with a mass similar to our Sun, but it’s only about 30km across. That’s already pretty intense, but it’s spinning at about 43,000 rpm. It spins 716 times each second.
That means the surface is moving at about 1/4 the speed of light.
Just imagine something spinning that fast, and it still doesn’t spin itself apart.

Venus is pictured in vibrant colors. The planet is primarily green, with blue along the top and bottom portions. Cutting across the center are shades of copper in swirling shapes reminiscent of streams. Looking closely, craters can be seen sporadically across its surface.⁣

Jupiter's moon, Io, is the most volcanically active body in the solar system.
The surface of Io is splotched with lava lakes and floodplains of liquid rock.
Astronomers have mapped about 150 volcanoes on the moon, some of which blast lava 250 miles (400 km) out into space and these volcanoes are at times so powerful that they are seen with large telescopes on Earth.
