Toad le Journal Toad comprises any number of species of artists of the creative order, often characterized by their exciting work, thick skin, and wart-like ideas.

To maintain its lively form, Toad cultivates quarterly issues with rotating editors and staff to ensure that the content stays fresh and diverse. Toad: we rivet. Every third month Toad showcases new poetry, prose, and visual art. As an ever-evolving amphibian, the editors of Toad select artists (“toadists”) from one of two pools: the first is our sportive, always popular pool of open submissions.

In times of drought and famine we rely on the pool of solicitation. Toad: we bulge. Toad ‘s habitat is protected by conservationist Bob Hicok, and nourished by the Creative Writing graduate students of Virginia Tech.
