Lo GNU Music Festival è una manifestazione unica nel suo genere. Nato grazie alla collaborazione di una rete di locali del centro storico di Bologna (Macondo, Altotasso, Barazzo Live, Celtic Druid, Black Cat, Caffetteria Maurizio e con la partecipazione dell'Associazione Culturale Farm presso il Bar Senza Nome) riuniti da Luca Ettorre, gestore del Macondo, è l'evoluzione di quello che per due anni

è stato l'FMM, il Festival della Musica del Macondo. Ora che il festival è uscito dal Macondo per allargarsi a tante altre realtà musicali bolognesi è diventato lo GNU Music Festival, dove GNU sta per Giovani Note Urbane. Ufficio Stampa: Rizoma Studio Giornalistico Associato
