🚧 Traffic Alert for East Cobb 🚧

Starting today, Atlanta Gas Light will begin closing lanes on Johnson Ferry Road between East Cobb Drive and Bishop Lake Road to complete urgent repairs. These lane closures will occur daily and are expected to last several weeks.

Plan ahead and expect delays in the area. For updates on lane and road closures in Cobb County, visit www.cobbcommute.org.

The East Cobb Classic 5K host by Eastside Christian School!!

Check out the new flat, fast course! The East Cobb Classic 5K & Fun Run returns for its third year on March 1 at Eastside Christian School, 2450 Lower Roswell Road in Marietta/East Cobb. This family friendly event supports the local community and promises a fun-filled morning for all ages.

This year’s proceeds will enhance the library at Eastside Christian School. As Dr. Seuss observed, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!”

Registration options include a USATF certified timed 5K race, an untimed 5K run/walk, and/or a kid’s fun run. The timed 5K is an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race qualifying event with awards for the top 3 male and female overall finishers, as well as age group awards. The kid’s fun run consists of a 50 Yard Dash (under 5 years of age) and 1/2K Run (ages 5 to 10). Registration for all race day participants includes a super soft race t-shirt. "What I love about the ECC5K is that it's a race through East Cobb neighborhood streets at the Goldilocks time of year when it's not too cold and not too hot! And this year the new course is fast and flat. What could be better?" said Karen Kee.

“God made us to be in community with one another. From runners, walkers, volunteers, to sponsors, I love how races bring people together,” said race director Sara Gentry.

⚾️Sprayberry grads Tyler Tolve and Michael Chavis are back this year to hit home runs along with several other local professionals including last year’s #3 overall draft pick, Charlie Condon!

Admission is $15 and all proceeds benefit two causes important to Tyler — access to baseball and blood cancer research. The event will feature an amateur round of area high school players, food trucks and a silent auction in addition to the pros hitting. Bring the family!

Look Who's on the Cover this month!
