Locals staying in town this Labor Day weekend won’t want to miss the 38th-annual Marietta Art in the Park. A family-friendly event, the award-winning Art in the Park typically welcomes 50,000+ visitors to historic downtown Marietta.
This year’s Artist Market features more than 220 professional fine artists working in mediums from acrylics and oils to jewelry, textiles, woodworking and more. Art in the Park gives attendees a true behind-the-scenes experience with demos and the opportunity to talk with artists while browsing and buying.
Saturday’s Chalk Spot is an interactive street art display created for and by children, and Children’s Art Alley is an interactive “make and take” area. Guests will find plenty to eat and drink by visiting local restaurants along the Square and have the chance to enjoy live music performances in the gazebo throughout the weekend.
Attendance at Marietta Art in the Park is free! Chalk Spot registration $10 on-site (supplies are limited).
Art in the Park’s mission is to showcase fine art, support local downtown business and bring a positive economic impact to the historic square. Marietta Art in the Park is one of the oldest annual events in the city.

The playground at Mabry Park will be closed from August 12 to 16 for the installation of new equipment. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by August 16.

As part of the County’s 2022 SPLOST resurfacing program, contractors are scheduled to begin roadway resurfacing of East Piedmont Road on Monday, July 15. Nightly resurfacing will take place between 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. from Piedmont Forest Court to Sandy Plains Road and is expected to last through the end of July, weather permitting.
The work will be completed in two phases. The initial phase will consist of milling and patching of the existing pavement of the road. The second phase will be installing new roadway surface and will commence shortly after phase one is completed.
Please expect minor traffic delays during construction. Traffic control measures will be in place along the corridor. Please obey all posted signage and be careful if driving in the area.
