Tour de France Femmes 🙌🏻

A great week with all the emotions, this group are so good to work with. Easy going, a lot of a laughs and a lot of fun.

It started with a bang, Charlotte Kool took the stage, yellow and green in one fell swoop in front of a Dutch crowd, fairytale stuff.

I knew straight away when I saw that it would be a sprint finish in Rotterdam that I wanted to be there, and fortunately it worked out for everyone. She didn’t have the easiest start to the year, but came good at just the right time. 💛

Another stage win in the famous yellow jersey, riders leaving the race and setbacks along the way to the finale atop Alpe d’Huez provided a full spectrum of highs and lows, but as the old saying goes, that’s bike racing, and it’s incredibly exciting women’s racing 👊🏻

Incredibly privileged to work within the team and see behind the scenes from start to finish. Big thanks to everyone for playing ball with the cameras.

Degenkobl 🪨

It’s true what I said before, watching Roubaix from the comfort of a sofa is one thing, but seeing the romance and brutality of this historic race was eye opening for me.

Over the Roubaix weekend my main focus was to follow Dege. John is a class act. Truly. He has an infectious laugh, a strong character and he is serious about Roubaix. He loves Paris-Roubaix, and the race loves him back. It was a pleasure and an honour to be involved.

On the Friday we did recon, a 90 minute drive from the hotel to the start point of the recon, and despite 11 previous races there, his own cobble and cobbles sector, Tour de France stages (and win), yet he still had his head in his computer looking at Veloviewer and analysing the weather, despite knowing every cobble.

Almost ironically, there was a fall in the recon on his own sector - I didn’t see it myself, but he battled on because he truly loved this race. He wasn’t going to miss it. And for the rest of the team, it’s easy to follow someone who has this kind of resilience, and he can share a wealth of experience with them and hopefully one day, there’ll be another winner in there.

It’s really a privilege to spend time around these guys, and they definitely make my job easier by putting up with me and my cameras 😅

Pfeiffer’s Podium 🪨

Epic. I’m sure you’ve all seen her reaction to find out she came 3rd. We had to wait a few minutes to confirm. Eurosport were keen to get an interview in but Pfeiffer was adamant she was waiting until she confirmed her position. And then the video… 😅

I’ve done a lot with the team in the past 18 months, but spent a lot of time around Pfeiffer in the women’s program. She’s a real leader, incredibly strong and really focused. I’ve watched her win two national titles in impressive fashion, and she’s due an enormous win soon. 💪🏻

Roubaix wasn’t the win, but what a fight she put up to take 3rd, and I’m absolutely certain that it will happen, it’s just a matter of time. ⏳

The women’s program are great to be around, lots of laughs and a great atmosphere no matter who is involved. We’ll be back again soon 🫡

Incidentally, we did before and after photos and Pfeiffer was exactly the same for both, just a little more dusty 💨

Nimbl be quick 😮‍💨

I’m no influencer, but I love these shoes. I was lucky to swap a pair for some images - it’s good currency sometimes, and I’ve been using them for about a year.

I really wanted them to be overpriced and rubbish. And whilst they are very expensive, they actually are very good. 👌🏻

I’m quite fussy with my shoes, as I have very narrow feet, but also because…white. I want white shoes first and foremost, I have about 25 pairs of white trainers and they must remain white. There’s also a certain look that’s required. Sleek and lean. This is that. If .cc do a pure white version without the carbon sole…🤤 I’ll be in trouble.

Very light, very stiff, very comfortable and they look mega. 😎

The main men 💪🏻

Another good day with the Elite Men’s team after rain interrupted 🫠 I got pretty soaked up in the mountains on the back of the back and needed a bit of rice from to dry my camera out 😂 (thanks mate ✌🏻)

A few guys missing down in Oz and already racking up the wins 👑

It looks set to be a good season in the new colours and on best looking bike in the bunch 🤝

The Queens of the Peloton 👑

I love this group, a lot of energy, a lot of laughs and a lot of talent 🙌🏻

I always feel extremely welcome working with these lot, whether it’s road shoots, races or otherwise - from coaches and staff to riders, they’ve all been really good fun to work alongside 🫶🏻

Some of them were already in Oz and sadly some illness and injuries kept a couple of others away, but I’m really excited to see them build on their 2023 results with a few new additions. 💪🏻

On the path to the elite levels, it takes more than being just a good bike rider. You can see that there’s some old heads in this group already and I’m confident a few of them will make the step up, although what do I know 📸

Same team, new look 🟠🔵⚪️

New kit, new bike and new content for the women’s, men’s and devo programs 📸

Good to hook up with most of the guys and gals of in January with a handful of the men and women already hard at work in Oz 👇🏻

I spent a few days getting to know the crew and shooting from the bike for the first time, pretty good going, although you need to dress for the weather 😅

Personally I’m a big fan of the new livery and kit, nice and fresh 😎

Mallorca. The Island. 🏝️

I love this place. It’s a magical island. It hosts some of the most beautiful and famous climbs in the world - namely Sa Calobra and Formentor. 🏔️

It’s a cyclist’s paradise. A photographer’s dream. It looks great from above with the drone and provides epic vistas from virtually every climb you can ride.

I’m here on holiday. To ride my bike after what has been my busiest year to date since beginning my journey as a freelancer. It’s difficult on/race for me to get big miles in, and fortunately I can bring work with me whilst I enjoy the lanes and switchbacks. The cameras and drone were always coming.

To that end, Stu and Band of Climbers were among the first to show faith and belief in me despite already working with some top photographers. I am not here to take their place, just offer something different when they’re not around. 📸

I told Stu I was likely to be here and so he presented me another opportunity to work with the great people of Band of Climbers on the end of season Mallorca escape. I’ve never done a shoot with them where I don’t enjoy it. 2 hours or 6, everyone involved is always a great person and a good laugh and Mallorca was no different. Long may that continue.

I would love to shoot here more and more. It’s not as easy to get about as I hoped, with narrow roads and almost nowhere to quickly pull the car in - a moto would definitely help. But it’s certainly beautiful and I’ve barely scratched the surface.

The original modern professional 😎

He came. He saw. He conquered.

I think you could liken Peter Sagan’s impact on cycling similar to that of David Beckham with football. Perhaps that’s bold, but Beckham was a hero of mine. I’m certain Sagan did the same for many coming into the sport.

He transcended the sport and brought it into a new era and gave it something completely contrasting. He was radical, outrageous and dominant. He was different. Charismatic and care free. He was Sagan. Why so serious?

Climbing; no problem. Sprinting; absolutely. Breakaways and solo victories…let’s do it. He had so much talent.

Multiple world titles, green jerseys, a couple of monuments and a few wheelies. He was worth every penny. And slowly but surely he’s passed the baton - Julian Alaphilippe, Mathieu van der Poel, Wout Van Aert and Tadej Pogačar are cut from the same cloth.

He hangs up his wheels, but he leaves a legacy that will last a lifetime. 🫡

Congrats for being the superstar we didn’t know we needed. 🤩

Local roads with local heroes 🫡

Nothing special here; I went for a spin with my friends this morning as was roughly 15km from my door, so a 70km loop was in order as they rode up a climb I’ve only ever ridden down 😅

I took my 50mm and R6 in my and off we went - I was fu**ed by the way 🥵

Really cool to see a lot of guys I’ve worked with rolling by on routes and roads I ride weekly (when I’m at home) and they’re lucky that we’ve just hit summer 😂

I see you duck 🫵🏻🫡

Fingers crossed hope the weather sticks for the rest of it 🙌🏻

Fred at last 🙏🏻

These guys battered each other for nearly five hours, in red hot sun, blustery winds and outrageous downpours. Wearing each other down.

They’ve raced against each other for years, they’re all good mates really, but they all want that jersey.

Sometimes, it doesn’t matter who wins. Sometimes, you want anyone to win.
Sometimes, there’s more than one rider who deserves to win on the day.

But then there’s Fred.

I don’t know Fred. I’ve seen and spoken to him at races, watched hours of him in breakaways and listened to post-race interviews and podcasts and he’s always positive, upbeat and happy. It’s impossible not to like him.

In the last couple of years, he’s put on such a great show, riding like a champion, wearing his heart on his sleeve, not quite managing a win, but he’s come back and done it all over again; time and time again.

But not this time. With Gino Mäder in his heart, he took his maiden victory. Now he is a champion.

Pfeiffer ✌🏻

I’ve worked quite a bit with , and in fact my first project with her was when she was previously National Champ back in April 2022 alongside and this was my first involvement with .

I produced a video about her success at such a young age and how she’s reached such heights, ably assisted by top YouTuber who also rides on Scott bikes. We went for a ride along her local lanes and to a great cafe that she used to stop at to find out how she progressed to the elite ranks. You can watch it on YouTube of course 🎥

It’s funny how things work out, I’ve only shot two British Road National events and she’s gone an won them both.

Yesterday, she looked impeccable. Always in control. Always pushing. Always believing. It was an immensely assured victory. This win won’t surprise many of her teammates 💪🏻

I think it’s time for another trip to the caf…and a champ’s bike 👀

Gladiators. Warriors. Heroes. 💪🏻

It’s been an absolute privilege to work with during the 106th .

My focus was a four-part docuseries showing what unfolds as the race progresses, from crashes to podiums.

I’ve been in a very privileged position to see and hear so much and done my level best to share it on behalf of the team. My photos are limited, but much more intimate than you’d get in the race.

But not just the riders, all the staff behind the scenes. Mechanics, soigneurs, Doctors, coaches and many others work tirelessly to make sure everything is as smooth and as easy as possible.

It’s easy for tempers to be lost, everyone is on the limit and working hard, giving up sleep. It’s also easy to lose your cool with someone poking a camera in your face 24/7, so I have to give some unreserved thanks to each and every individual that let me get on with what I need to do. I hate being on camera, so it’s easy for me to pretend it’s ok.

But, at no point did I feel unwelcome or unwanted and we were all rewarded well, with pink jerseys, a stage win and a great atmosphere which got better and better as the race went on.

Extra special thanks to for getting me involved and putting up with me. 😅
