There are more than a few things that play into a great recording. Talent (obviously), beautiful spaces like Ganz Hall (duh, especially with acoustic music), signal chain and pre-amps (whatever, nerd), and every engineer’s favorite: top quality ribbon microphones. We’re proud to have many mics for a number of applications, but our mics are next level. This R88 is an award winning stereo ribbon mic, heard in numerous GRAMMY Award winning albums. Wow! What a day! Three amazing season finales sprinkled all throughout Chicagoland. First was exhilarating performance at . Then, stunning season closer at Wicker Park Lutheran Church. Finally, breathtaking Spring Lieder Lounge at . Thanks to the whole Atlas team for making things so smooth, and thanks to our partner organizations for having us apart all seasons long!

We had the pleasure of mastering Jonathan Hannau’s () new single for solo piano, ‘Metamorphosis’. Like all of his other minimalist works for piano, it strikes the perfect balance of beauty and complexity. These piano projects with Hannau are amongst our longest ongoing collaborative projects from EPs to albums, spanning almost a decade! Stay tuned for more projects real soon, y’all!

There were so many amazing talks (14!) from this year’s TEDxWrigleyville event. We had the pleasure of directing, capturing, and assembling a team to hand all things technical. Another successful collab with Peckham Media Productions last Friday! Chicago College of Performing Arts first multi-camera live stream, and what a concert it was! Amazing to be back with such a great live (and safe) audience, while making these concerts accessible to the world, with so many student performers from all over it.

We had a wide view of the whole orchestra, a closeup camera for pans and soloist shots, and a stealth camera in the back as a conductor/audience cam. A big thanks to Atlas Arts Media for inviting me to help with this project!
