À l’occasion de cette centième sortie « BOXON MAKES ME SUNNY » de Boxon Records, le boss du label, Julien Minet, a eu envie de regrouper sur une même compilation des tracks qui sentent bon le soleil.
Après le succès des quatre compilations sorties précédemment, Boxon s’est cette fois-ci tourné vers des producteurs internationaux (Belgique, France, Italie, Afrique du Sud, Hong Kong) n’étant pas encore signés sur le label (De Gama, Mebara Sao, Hallex M, etc.) ainsi que vers des proches ou artistes déjà connus de la maison (Lois fr et Fruckie, Lithium, etc.).
