About to get into it! My favorite childhood book! **Update** It was such a cute and fun movie. I was feeling so nostalgic. I loved seeing the flip up desks in the classroom. We had those in my 4th grade class. The young actress who played Margaret did a great job. She made me feel the awkwardness and embarrassment of a pr***en girl. I give it 8 ⭐️s out of 10.

Media moguls Tyler Perry and Byron Allen are vying to purchase a majority stake of BET Media Group amid reports that owner Paramount Global is exploring a sale of the asset.

Variety has confirmed that Perry is in talks to acquire the network, while a spokesperson for Allen stated that the Allen Media Group founder is also “interested in buying BET, and he will be pursuing the acquisition of the network.”

According to The Wall Street Journal, which was first to report Paramount Global is interested in selling off BET in an article published Monday, “The decision to consider selling a majority stake of the assets, which cater primarily to Black audiences, is part of the entertainment giant’s effort to shore up resources to bolster its flagship Paramount+ streaming service and its advertiser-supported free streaming platform Pluto TV, some of the people said.”

This is a heartwarming story. It highlights the importance of in-person human interaction and friendship. Tom Hanks gives a stellar performance as usual. He made grumpy look good 🤣🤣! The 3rd act is a tearjerker so take a hanky. I give it 7 ⭐️s out of 10.

I finally finished reading Kindred this morning! It was soooo good. Now, I’m ready for the TV show. This book really makes you think about time and space and the ancestors. I give it 5 ⭐️s out of 5.

~ Finding Your Script’s Story Engine ~⠀

I pulled out an old pilot script I was working on a long time ago. I didn’t finish it because I was having a hard time coming up with the story engine. I can spot story engine problems easily in other people’s scripts, but it’s a struggle creating my own. ⠀
�I was given advice to check out the show Claws because it is similar to my script. So, I planned to check out the pilot episode to get an understanding of the story engine. The pilot hooked me in. The next thing I knew, I binged the entire first season. The show is hilarious and those people are crazy af! I tracked the engine for season 1 from beginning to end. ⠀
