Melbourne Media Archive SO WHO REMEMBERS SKA TV? St Kilda Access Television. Running around Melbourne, shooting all kinds of community news and events to broadcast on C31?

Melbourne Media Archive are the official custodians of the St Kilda Access SKA TV archive, a collection of audio visual TV programs and other material-including posters, flyers, magazines, books, newspapers, organizational documents, program and project planning documents, as well as the core collection of footage of the people, shot by the people, for the people-The People’s history, recorded ont

o Umatic, Betacam, VHS and MiniDv tapes from 1988 to 2010. As this footage was shot by numerous volunteers, from an organic, grassroots perspective, it is a rich resource of information pertaining to not only the history of Melbourne’s communities, but also to the global community as a whole and as such, this is the perspective that you would NOT have seen on mainstream commercial news broadcasts or programs and much of it has never been seen before on any network. We are a volunteer run organisation and have the knowledge, experience and facilities to create volunteer and training opportunities for those who would like to donate their time to preserve this rich historical information and for those that would just like to learn about the 'old' and the 'new' by gaining new knowledge and skills.
