3 things to remember when traveling with a spray tan

1. Planes only have 10-20% humidity so you’re skin will dry up faster than usual. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize…..and hydrate

2. Keep the feet free. Typically my clients spray the day before they travel so the tan is still fresh. Tight socks and sneakers won’t allow your feet to breathe as much as sandals or slip ons which can cause the tan to come off and create a white(r) foot.

3. Avoid hotel soap. Bar or gel, the majority of hotel soap tends to be loaded with perfumes that dry out the skin and strip the tan faster.

One common household item could come of use: baby oil. Drench your skin in baby oil and leave it on for five to 10 minutes—but no longer.

Once the time is up, take a hot shower or bath, then use an exfoliating mitt or cloth and lift off the old tan.

How to achieve the perfect tan 🤎 📸

✅ exfoliate the day before
✅ shave the day before
✅ stay away from Oil of Olay and Dove soap
✅ show up to your tan deodorant, perfume, lotion and makeup free
✅ plan to wear loose clothes post spray
✅ don’t sweat or get wet during the time the tan is processing
✅ your first shower should only be a rinse with water
✅ moisturize (the day after your tan is best)

Here’s the top tips to help you prepare for your next tan:

During your tan:
🤎 birthday suit
🤎 bottoms (bikini or thong) preferably black
🤎 remove all jewelry

What to wear once you’ve sprayed:
🤎 dark loose pants and T-shirt
🤎 dark loose dress
🤎 nothing with texture that could leave a print on the skin
🤎 flip flops

Good tans come to those who exfoliate 🧽

It is best to exfoliate the day before you tan. This allows dead skin cells to be buffed away, leaving the skin smooth and soft, allowing the tan to absorb better and to leave a more even, long lasting tan.

Tip: use non-oily body scrub to avoid any barrier that the oil can create between your skin and the tan. A simple exfoliating mitt and Aveeno shower gel will do the trick

Trial your tan before the big day 👰‍♀️

A pre-wedding tan trial can give you a sense of what to expect in terms of color and longevity for the big day. We suggest booking a tan two to three months prior to the wedding so you can see how the color develops and decide if you want something lighter or a bit more glowy.

We’d suggest doing this around the same time as your makeup and hair trials to see how they complement each other.

Spray tan tips for brides!

👰‍♀️Book your tan for 2-3 days before the big day

👰‍♀️Request the rapid spray (1-3 hour wear) so you can decide how light or dark you want to be. I recommend 2 hours.

👰‍♀️Book ALL of your appointments for the days before your spray. Mani, pedi, wax, facial, massage.

👰‍♀️If you can, book a trial spray before your actual spray. A great time is for your bachelorette. This way you’ll know what to expect.
