Hanson Cheng

Hanson Cheng I was able to create my ideal life in under 1 year. I'll be sharing the steps I took to make those Hanging out with the same people. I'm scared. It's not better.

May 2016:
I'm lying in bed, extremely unhappy thinking about how I haven't traveled anywhere that has had any impact on me as a person. I'm reflecting about living in the Washington DC area all my life. Getting drunk and partying at the same places. Is this what I'm going to look back on when I'm on my deathbed and be genuinely proud about? Am I going to take this gift of life and opportunity us

e it to continue living this unfulfilled life? I book a ticket to Spain for 2 and a half weeks. I've never traveled by myself. I'm not sure if I'll freak the f**k out in Spain, have a s**t time and miss home, or.....
Too late to think about it. I leave in a week and a half. I need to start getting mentally ready. Spain
I fly to Madrid. I stay in my first hostel in my life. I meet amazing local people. I explore the city, the culture, the food. I'm introduced to a different life than the one I'm used to in DC. One that is different from the only life I've known. It's not worse. It's different. I love it. I realize how cheap flights are to other countries in Europe. I book a flight to Rome that leaves the next day. I feel sad about leaving my new friends, but I'm more excited about what adventures Rome holds. Rome:
I land in Rome and have an immediate culture shock. I'm no longer in Spain. All the Spanish I've learned is useless. I realize I don't even know how to say thank you in Italian. I booked a hostel for the first night and have no plans. The first day in Rome, I explore the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon. I follow the tourist guides closely. And I realize I HATE it. I don't enjoy the touristy stuff. I pay for overpriced s**tty pasta. I need to find out where the locals are. I want the authenticity I experienced in Spain. I meet an awesome Australian and almost kill myself on a scooter. We find a local neighborhood filled with shops and restaurants on the edge of Rome and we eat amazing Italian food and drink beers overlooking the city. I buy a ticket to Berlin that leaves the next day. I stay up all night partying with my new Australian friend and two German girls and we make wishes at the Trevi fountain together as the sun comes up. I almost miss my flight. I fly to Berlin. Berlin:
I watch a World Cup game. I get a personal tour of the non touristy side of Berlin from a Tinder date. I eat amazing Turkish food and I get sick. I fly to Barcelona after only 2 days because I'm wicked sick. Barcelona:
I arrive in Barcelona and I'm sick as a dog. I'm like a I sit on the ground of the airport at baggage claim and I watch my bag go round and round until the conveyor belt stops. I'm the last one there and I can't move. I am sick for 4 more days. I party on the beach from dusk until dawn. I eat amazing tapas. I relax on the beach. I think about life. I fly home. August 2016:
I fly to Colorado and think about moving there. I surf on sand dunes. I sleep in sub zero weather with a napkin as a blanket. I hike on 14k high mountains. I decide I want to move here from DC

November 2016:
I decide to fly to Argentina to meet some potential developers to work with on one of my startup companies. I recruit 13 people to do a bicycle wine tour with me at the bottom of the Andes mountains in Mendoza. I fall in love with Mate (Argentine tea) and the ritual of drinking it with with friends. I see the most amazing sunrise with a rainbow in my life in Patagonia at Mt Fitz Roy after hiking through the night with puma out. I pick up my first hitch hiker. I fly home and decide I want to travel around the world. Dec 2016: I buy a one way ticket to New Zealand. I buy my first camera and start watching Youtube videos on how to use it. Feb 2017: I live in a van for three months traveling around New Zealand. I name my van Charlie I hang out on a deserted beach alone with 7 sea lions, I learn to surf with dolphins, I get kissed by a wild baby seal, I see my first Milky Way, my first shooting star, and I meet more amazing people. I begin to learn how to live away from technology. The longest I go without showering is 1 week. I get sick and live out of a parking lot for 4 days on a seaside cliff and have the most amazing sunrises and milky ways I've ever seen every night but am too sick to take pictures. I fly a brand new drone into the ocean. I have a calling to go to Bali. I sell my van and book a flight to Kuala Lumpur. I board the flight 3 hours after I buy the ticket. I land in Kuala Lumpur and I immediately buy a ticket to go to Bali. Bali 2017: I land in Bali at 9pm after traveling for over 24hours from New Zealand. I sleep in my first bed in months and miss my van. I take surf lessons on the beach and fall in love with surfing. I travel to Ubud and am introduced to Kundalini Yoga and am eating vegan. I quickly discover new depths of spiritual learning and awareness I've never thought were within reach or even desired. I come from a city that loves making money, partying, and status. I am now currently living on an island where people love to surf, do yoga, eat vegan. I focused on building and creating things with a purpose. This is my personal account of my journey. I will never stop evolving. I will be honest with my growth and my setbacks with you. If you get nothing else from my adventures, at the very least I hope you are entertained.

How I run my business like serial killer Joe Goldberg from You

And why you should too...

2018-2020: Hoping I schedule 2-3 sales meetings a week (on my own)

2022-2023: 3-4 sales meetings booked a day by my team.

Nothing feels better than having a machine that prints meetings, clients, and money for you.

I figured out a way to be completely hands off and watch my team talk to each other about meetings booked, sales made without me having to jump in at any point....

My role is kinda similar to being a plumber…

I'm only needed when something breaks.

Whenever something clogs up the process,

I need to get my hands dirty and unclog the crap blocking my team from handling their business.

If you like being active in every stage of the process…

This definitely isn’t for you.

But...

If you want to creep in the corner and watch as your team grows your business...

I’m showing a bunch of people how I built this machine.

It still generates me $30k months without me doing anything.

It’ll be $5 for you to learn.

If you join before midnight tonight (April 3), I'll even hop on a 1 on 1 call with you.

Did you know I used to be a photographer? This is me finding an off limits waterfall in New Zealand. This guy didn’t know anything about marketing. Making money online. I had just left the USA a month before and was still planning on returning later this year.

You never know where the unknown path will lead.

I believe there are infinite variations of a life you can live.

If you don’t like where one path is heading, just take another one. Even if you don’t know where it will lead.

If you don't know how to make money online, ask someone who does.

If you don't finish your gym workouts consistently, just go for 5 minutes

If you can't meditate for 5 minutes, spend 1 minute looking at the sky.

Progress is better than being stagnant.

Freedom isn’t just about working 4 hours a week.

It’s having the OPTION to.

The real killers have the option but choose not to.

06/08/2023

The key to freedom is knowing who to hire next.

And doing this over. And over. And over again

When I feel stuck… I move

Walk outside
Lift heavy weights
Talk to people more successful

Move that energy to find the next step

My value is freedom.

You don't get freedom if you do everything yourself.

Here's my system for creating freedom:

•Learn a skill
•Get Paid for it
•Get paid more for it
•Train someone else to do it

It's simple... but not easy

One dumb thing I used to do in my 20s that I think is ridiculous now...

Not telling anyone my ideas because I was afraid someone would steal them.

I ended up just sitting on a pile of unexecuted secrets.

Today, I'd trade 1,000 ideas for 1 person who can execute.

There's always another option that's faster, cheaper, easier. The trade-off is how long you want to spend looking for the better option.

Which online skill can you make the most money with?

21/11/2022

If you're not making $100,000 a year online, read this:

1. Spend 30 minutes a day learning a skill

Here are some online skills that pay $10k+/mth:

• SEO
• Sales
• Coding
• Marketing
• Copywriting
• Video editing

Youtube, SkillShare, Udemy, and Udacity all offer free online courses in which you can watch and learn skills.

2. Dedicate 1 hour a day to growing an audience

Pick one of these apps:

• Twitter
• Youtube
• Instagram

Pick a topic/niche you are confident and have knowledge about.

Here are some examples:

• Business
• Investing
• Motivation
• Fitness/Health

And try this;

1. Create a logo and banner that match (Use Canva)
2. Describe how you can help people in your bio
3. Post 2-5 times everyday (Be consistent)
4. Build relationships with other people
5. Comment on larger accounts content

As you're learning your skill, write about it online.

I recommend Twitter, as you can:

• Gain a more loyal audience
• Teach others about your skill
• Build strong friendships with others
• Promote services/products for others

3. Build a network of friends

Building a business and account alone is 10x harder with support.

Find people who:

• Motivate you
• Will help you improve
• Are a master in your niche
• Can teach you more knowledge

And your journey will be so much more enjoyable.

Here's how you can do this:

• Invest in a mentor
• Join engagement groups
• Comment daily under other accounts

4. Learn sales and psychology

Being able to turn followers into customers is a skill.

Sales and psychology will help you:

• Grow an engaged audience
• Convert more sales + clients
• Scale and grow your business

This will transform your income.

5. Show up every single day

Being consistent is the key to success and business.

No millionaire became rich by giving up.

You have to:

• Post everyday
• Trust the process
• Believe in yourself
• Remember why you started

You can do this.

Have regular conversations with yourself.

You're the only person who can change you.

No one else can.

Each conversation lets know if you're changing into a better person.

19/11/2022

Growth should be exciting.

If it's not, you're doing one of two things wrong.

1. Your mindset is not right, and you're anxious about worst-case scenarios in the future.

2. You aren't in alignment with what your purpose is.
