Northern Cat-eyed Snake / Culebra Ojo de Gato Norteña
(Leptodeira Septentrionalis)
Su nombre deriva de la palabra latina septentrionalis, que significa "norteño", a primera vista esta especie es comúnmente confundida en nuestro país con la Culebra Ojo de Gato Bandeada (Leptodeira Rhombifera).
El género Leptodeira es bastante ágil, noble y también un depredador muy exitoso, muy común de ser encontrado cerca de arroyos a nivel del suelo o colgando en ramas no muy altas por la noche al acecho de comida.

Its name is derived from the Latin word septentrionalis, meaning "northern", at first sight this specie is commonly mistaken in our country with the Banded Cat-eyed Snake (Leptodeira Rhombifera).
Leptodeira genus is quite agile, noble, and a very successful predator, very common to be found near creeks on the ground level or hanging in branches not too high at night lurking on food.

It's a shame that this individual can be labeled as poisonous and deadly because of its brilliant color, however this toad is totally harmless and far from being deadly.
