When you’re born into this world as a woman, you’re born into war. Your soul, your essence, your ability to bring Creators love and life into this world, makes you a target for those who want to destroy •• We are posting this song today to remind you of how sacred you are and in remembrance of those we have lost due to the violence continually forced upon us. We know you are all helping us from the spirit world, to bring a just world and future forward for our children that prioritizes the safety of our women and children •• Our prayers go out to everyone who has lost a loved one or has been effected by assaults •• May you feel Creators love around you, may your hearts be healed, may we work together to bring awareness to our relatives and help end this epidemic. 🤍♥️🪶🪶♥️🤍

Yesterday we learned the words T'áá Dibéi (thank you .aspaas for sharing this on one of your old posts from 2018 with your “churro” sheep) Jingle is “T'áá Dibéi” • He comes from Royal (dad) and Sisnaajini (mom). He was named as a baby in the spirit of the jingle dress dance (he would literally dance everywhere as a baby!) His horns used to grow straight until him and his dad got into it about some ladies. His right horn fell off and is growing back in a better direction - his left horn is loose and might fall off shortly •• we’ve been learning so much by living closely with our sheep relatives. Their horns are quite fragile and are the males “tools” to help protect the flock ••• Jingle has been hanging out with the other single males but in a few months we will have enough space to place him with some ladies. Im sure he’s looking forward to it ☺️

If you teach youth classes, are an educator, or have kids of your own (or not) this is a great one to share! Did you take a good listen to the lyrics? These are deep and TRUTHFUL: “How much till you get up and get stronger?” 💯💯

It’s such an honor to get to see our young people reconnecting with the sacred foods. You can tell they are hesitant at first, but with proper guidance they always end up really enjoying it •• These young ladies brought such a spirit to preparing the wasna this past year. They loved being able to work with their friends and the uncis and they worked hard!!! •• COVID has made it increasingly more difficult to gather like this but we are hoping to reconvene in a smaller way this coming year to prepare for next summers ceremonies.

Thank you ladies! Wopila!

Today we shipped our first shipment of cleaned wool to a small native-owned business in New Mexico. We are so happy to share the wealth of wool the sheep have gifted to us, with others in our extended communities. Sheep is life!!!

Music is such a universal way to express yourself and to reach others with your messages. We’re grateful the youth featured in this video we’re able to do just that on behalf of their culture. Keep going 👏🏽👏🏽

To us, being Indigenous means always giving thanks to the beauty that surrounds and lives within us. Today we give thanks to each of the special elements that make us “Us”, and the beauty that the world beholds

•• May you feel creators love for you today and every day. May you eat your peoples foods, sing your songs, pray your prayers, and uphold the ways of your unique peoples
•• May your Elders be strong and healthy, and may your children be safe and warm ••
•• May we walk in a way that brings answers to the worlds prayers and may we all - one day - understand the peace that Creator made “to be”.

From all parts of us, Ahéhee, thank you for being Indigenously, YOU. And Wopila! To creator for the opportunity to walk in the world at this time.”

Today we would like to thank Indigenous researchers and scientists around the world •• THANK YOU for the work you bring into the world •• Indigenous people have always been “scientists” - let’s remember that!

We are critical thinkers, engaged fully with our surroundings, and thoughtful in mind and actions. Because of this, Nations from around world developed their own highly specialized and unique protocols for living well with the earth and each other. We still do today.

We’d like to share some snapshots of a short film we helped edit of one such Oglala Lakota scientist who feels “Respectful” and “Fearless” in her work. Enjoy!

Whole body understandings transcend physical form and invite the knowing of mind, body, and spirit as one. Not just of ourselves, but in relationship to everyone in around us. All of our relatives, winds, directions, and Ancestors. Each of us contributes to “our knowing” and in this way we are related 🧡 We encourage everyone to utilize their birthright of freewill today to connect with their relatives and the intelligence that surrounds us! Have a beautiful day ☀️

“Cousins” a film by Ainsley Gardner and Briar Grace-Smith based on the best selling novel by Patricia Grace.

Cousins was originally the vision of filmmaker Mereta Mita, the first Māori to write and direct a feature film.

This powerful film was beautifully moving. It made us reflect on the people around us that we know and love and our choices in life.

Everything from the soundtrack, the cinematography and these amazing actresses comes together to make this film a must see for everyone.

The seasons are starting to change and we're reminiscing on planting our first rotation of corn this past spring. 🌽 Making relations with different varieties of heirloom seeds from our home territories in the southwest is a blessing, honor, and privilege 🧡 The humidity in the south was quite hard on them, and we're looking forward to connecting with those who have seeds and stories from traditional Tsalaguwetiyi - ᏣᎳᎫᏪᏘᏱ (Cherokee) lands. Ta-ah 🙏🏽
