C2Y, a graduate of Capitol Institute of Technology (CIT), is a Refrigeration Technician by profession. But instead of pursuing what he studied, he found himself working as utility personnel at YES Cable TV (now Sky Cable-Bacolod) starting January 1998. Being a God-dependent man, C2Y rather found God’s placement for him in YES Cable TV because in March 1998, an accident happened at the Old Bacolod
Airport. The Head Editor at YES Cable TV needed their cameraman to shoot some footage of the mishap but nobody dared to go because of fear that the aircraft might explode. The responsibility fell on C2Y’s lap because he was the lowest ranking staff there. Thankfully, favor was upon him. He was able to do the job and the head editor was impressed with his documentation. From then on, C2Y was promoted from being Janitorial Staff to Production Staff. He learned to edit videos and many of their YES Cable clients were satisfied of his style of editing. That was the crossroad and the launch pad in his career that brought him to where he is today. Armed with his creative eye, determination, and the skills that he learned on the job, C2Y started his video coverage and editing business in 2005 while still connected with YES Cable. At that time, he didn’t have a video camera of his own. He just rented cameras from friends until he had the opportunity to get a loan in order to buy a brand new Sony Digital 8 camera--his first and only brand new camera. And that was the start of their multimedia business that they built from scratch. It was in the year 2010 when C2Y decided to take his early retirement from his employer in order to focus on his business. The rest, they say, became history. Aside from his multimedia business, C2Y is also a performer on the side. He is the original vocalist of the famous Grupo Mari Teves (GMT). Now, he is an independent performer who has been chosen by the Department of Tourism Central Office as their goodwill singer, performing in other countries in order to promote the Philippines. He also tried producing documentary shows like Tatak Negrense and Cinestorya but because of his busy schedule he gave up. C2Y is married to the enterprising Johanna A. Taño, who is his staunch supporter and full-time staff at their business. Johanna is an alumna of St. Joseph School-La Salle Batch 1993 and a graduate of USLS Batch 1999with a degree in ECE. They are blessed with three children, namely Iya, Imo, and A2n. For Johanna, C2Y is a very supportive and loving husband and father. A faithful Christian, C2Y attributes their successes, their clients, the acquisition of their equipment, as well as the expansion of their business to God’s miracles in their lives. Many friends became channels of God’s blessings for him and his family. All that they have, he believes, are answered prayers. At present, it is C2Y’s desire to be able to help people who are interested to learn about video editing apart from managing his business.
