Cabo Verde Network (CVN) is the first broadcast channel dedicated to issues impacting members of the Join us and be part of our growth.

Cabo Verde Network (CVN) is a communications platform for original content dedicated to news, politics, sports, music, entertainment, educational enrichment, current events and all issues impacting members of the Cape Verdean diaspora world-wide. The platform will help create business and educational opportunities for Kriolus around the globe. The Cabo Verde Network will also distribute existing t
elevision or online programs and other materials that are relevant to people of the diaspora. We will promote Cape Verdean initiatives and achievements in a way that unites people and strengthens the Kriolu identity and brands of consumerism globally. CVN will cover the Boston, Brockton, Providence, Bridgeport and New Bedford communities of the New England region. Cape Verdean communities in New England are comprised of well over 500,000 Cape Verdeans/Cape Verdean-Americans. With such deep roots in the region and significant contributions within the historical landscape, it is vital for Kriolus to have a sense of ownership with the local businesses, government, athletics and media outlets. We believe that this network will give members of our community a platform to promote the positive ideals and mission of CVN which is a key piece of our advancement in the years to come.

This weekend on Saturday, June 15, ACVB will be hosting its Community Day Event in Brockton, MA at the Boys and Girls Club on 223 Warren Av starting at 9am. The event will consist of youth tournament and clinic, youth skills development workshops, and the ACVB All-Star Events featuring a dunk and 3pt contest and then concluding the day with the All-Star Game at 4pm, Team Cabo Verde vs Team World. There will be food trucks serving FREE Food at the event as well as special guests from the community.

Three new Brockton Police officers were sworn in today in front of their families, friends, and coworkers.
Yesterday, officers Miriam Goncalves and Julio Fernandes graduated from the Police Academy. Our third police officer, Samantha Ackerson, comes from the Northeastern University Police Department.
As a kid, Ackerson dreamed of becoming a police officer in her hometown. Now, that dream has come true.

O CCCV - Centro Cultural Cabo Verde lamenta profundamente o falecimento prematuro da artista Sara Tavares e apresenta as mais sentidas condolências à família, aos amigos e aos admiradores da artista.
Filha de cabo-verdianos, nascida em Portugal, Sara Tavares começou a sua carreira musical aos 16 anos de idade, com a participação no concurso de talentos "Chuva de Estrelas", em 1994, tendo sido a primeira vencedora da edição portuguesa do referido concurso. Pouco depois venceu o Festival da Canção que lhe permitiu representar Portugal no Festival Eurovisão com a canção "Chamar a Música".
Sara Tavares destinguiu-se imediatamente no panorama musical português não só pelo seu talento vocal, mas também pela suavidade da sua voz e pela singularidade das suas canções que primam pela simplicidade e transmitem paz e tranquilidade.
O universo cultural lusófono perde uma grande artista e o mundo perde uma voz única que jamais será esquecida.

O poste cabo-verdiano Michel Mendes é o novo reforço do Ferroviário da Beira que vai disputar Divisão Leste da Elite 16 da Liga Africana de Basquetebol (BAL). A etapa de acesso “Road To Bal 2024” vai ser realizada de 21 á 26 deste mês, em Joanesburgo, África do Sul.
Além da equipa moçambicana, integram o grupo, Jozi (Zimbabwe), City Oilers (Uganda), Cube Omnisports de La Police Nationale (COSPN) do Madagáscar. O primeiro classificado apura-se para a fase final a decorrer próximo ano.
Em declarações ao SportsMídia, o atleta disse que sua expectativa para essa nova participação na prova é fazer tudo para que o Ferroviário esteja na Fase Final da BAL, em março do próximo ano.
Michel que recentemente representou Cabo Verde no Mundial de Basket que decorreu entre Japão, Indonésia e Filipinas, vai para a sua segunda experiencia na competição. Na época anterior ele representou o FAP dos Camarões na Fase Final.

Community Day 2023
ACVB held its annual Community Day on June 3rd, 2023 in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Brockton. Players from the league, volunteers, and players from the Cabo Verde National Team helped to facilitate the event. ACVB will be heading to Cabo Verde this July for a humanitarian trip where they will bring donations, host clinics and tournaments, and help repair basketball courts. ACVBLeague.com #acvbleague
