Seems not much is really new. This is a 1913 photo of Thomas Edison inspecting an electric car. In comparison to the gasoline vehicles of the time the electric car at that time was actually a more reliable car. Its main disadvantage then is the same as of today - infrastructure.

One of the things that we do at eMerging Productions is digitally restore documents and pictures. Remember the Chessie Cats and Kittens? This picture is of Peake who was the dad of the kittens. Not a well known picture but still parts of the Chessie Railroad story.

After the flag raising on Mount Surbachi the Marines Continued to clear snipers and fight from cave to cave. You may wonder why it was important to take that mountain and the lower right in the picture shows you why. The landing beaches with the assorted landing craft are sitting ducks from Japanese artillery that was still active. The flag was placed on the summit 5 days after the landing demonstrating that the invasion was not easy by any means.

We typically post recognized items of historical note. This picture is from when I worked at the Warren Tank Arsenal back when Iaccoca was "saving" Chrysler. This was before memes and people copied and passed cartoons by hand. I had a pretty good collection but after a few moves this is the only cartoon I could find. While the M1 initially had design trouble it has proved its value. I am proud of the work that I did on the vehicle.

EVERY generation thinks they have created all of the cool things and their imagination is the only singular thing, The ad that is shown is from 1912 (almost 100 years ago) lo and behold selfies were a thing before camera phones. You are just copying old people.

Many of us from the Detroit area are aware of the Clinton Kalamazoo Canal project from the 1830's. Fast forward to 1960 lo and behold in 1960 a canal was proposed to be built from Port Huron to Lansing then onto Lake Michigan. Sounds like a rumor doesn't it? The picture attached shows the proposed route and remarkably it was to be a test project for taking water from Alaskan Rivers and redistributed to the western states. Just goes to show that is always something.

The USS Chippewa was commissioned in 1815 and was intended to join the US squadron to oppose the Barbary Pirates. When she was ready to depart for the Barbary coast, victory had been found with the original naval squadron so she was assigned to fight the slave trade. We are showing the drawing after we had cleaned up the spots and tears of age. We are also showing two detail pictures that show the the attention to detail the rendering has.

An excerpt of a line drawing we acquired of a US 32 pound naval mounted cannon from around 1815 to 1820. In this acquisition we picked up light house plans and ship line drawings from the 1800's.
