Labor+Justice, a short film written and directed by The Acting Group’s Sarah Joy Byington is streaming all month long on .

“Set in a dystopian United States, pregnant persons are required by law to give birth in front of a panel of judges. Failure to birth a living baby sentences the mother to immediate ex*****on.”

Labor+Justice is a 13 minute short film that premiered earlier this year at HollyShorts in Los Angeles.

Also, rePROFilm Periodical Podcast launched Sarah’s interview of the film giving us the inside scoop.
“On the rePROFilm Periodical Podcast, filmmaker Sarah Joy Byington describes her short film “Labor + Justice” — “not a fun ride, an upsetting ride.”
It’s an apt description of the rePROFilm Vol. 23 selection, which presents a dystopia in which an uncaring and inexpert panel of judges weigh in on the outcomes of childbirth.
But haven’t we all been on an “upsetting ride” since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down abortion protections? Our Spotify playlist this month reflects the rage and sadness coursing through so many of us.
But there’s hope, too: in the art created from anger, in activism, and especially in the voting booth. Tis the season to use our voices.”

Our scream queen Caroline Willams has a new horror holiday feature that we hope to see in 2024. “He Sees You When You’re Sleeping”, is directed by British director Charlie Seeds and his team.
The film follows Chester, who returns to the home of his estranged, and hideously over-privileged family at Christmas, only to find an unknown killer disguised in a Santa outfit is stalking and killing family members one by one, in order to claim the huge family fortune. But which one of them is the killer?
