TODAY! Organized By Team Burden Producers launched the fundraising campaign for our film, BURDEN. Take a moment to check out our campaign page and video for an overview of our mission and the film: https://vimeo.com/282869242.

We believe that art and entertainment have a unique ability to address the social justice issues that plague our society today. BURDEN does that from a dramatic point of view with a HUGE infusion of comedy. It's a film that we know will spark a lot of much needed dialogue from all sides of the issue of discrimination!

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We hope you will join this movement and consider making a donation today. The campaign will run just 30 days so don't wait!!! We're already at 10% of our crowdfunding goal, which is only a percentage of the total budget. 100% of the proceeds go to the production of the film.

Remembering

“Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Do you know the story of The Little Rock Nine? History called it Heroism. They called it High School.

LITTLE ROCK tells the riveting true story of the Little Rock Nine, the first black students to attend their city’s formerly segregated central high school. What began as their quest for a better education soon became a national crisis, igniting the passions of a divided country and sparking a historic fight for justice in the Jim Crow south. On the cusp of the Civil Rights movement, a changing world watched as these nine children from Arkansas battled for their rights with only a book and pencil. At once harrowing and hopeful, LITTLE ROCK brings urgently to life the Nine’s untold personal stories of challenge and resilience, conjuring memories of America not so long ago. From writer and director Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj, this deeply moving play honors the bravery of these young heroes and asks audiences: Would you have had the courage?

TODAY - African-American Pastors to Stand on Steps of NY City Hall to Declare Justice for People of African Descent Globally Saying,

“BLOOD NEVER BREAKS!”

On the first day of Black History Month, LGBTI Black clergy launch AfricanAmericanforAfricans.com to demand fair immigration policy and a just US foreign policy toward Africa

Convened by The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries (“TFAM”), Bishop Joseph Tolton, leader of TFAM’s The Fellowship Global (“TFG”), pastors of African descent from the NY metropolitan area launched AfricanAmericansForAfrica.com on the NY City Hall Steps. They say NO to the racialized smears and policies that are coming from the White House, and YES to justice for people of African descent globally.

Bishop Joseph Tolton of TFAM and TFG spends almost four months a year working with LGBTI communities in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda to support progressive Christianity and democratic values.

“Blood Never Breaks!” is the theme for the protest by NY area pastors of African descent and allies who will say NO to Trump’s racialized policies and smears and YES to justice for people of African descent globally.

The President’s policies are no longer an existential threat but an imminent threat to the health and well-being to the people of African descent globally. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and allies wore black and kente cloth during the SOTU address by the President on January 30. In solidarity with the CBC, the African Union, and African countries, clergy at the demonstration will wear dark clothing and kente cloth.

On the steps of NY City Hall - City Hall Park, New York, NY
