On the last day of 2023, we look back on another turbulent and difficult year - both on a global and personal level.
But music keeps the spirit alive, and we had 3 fantastic releases this year:

In the making for years, EE’s own Spacemaker and multi-talented Mima finally released Fetishista Kommunista as MACHO DIVA. Analogue sounds and lyrics from the heart were accompanied by fantastic artwork from Studio Kling. Production by Venderstrooik and steaming remixes by Rude 66 and Vive La Fête completed a mini-LP on blood-red vinyl.

Ever since organising a concert for them in Rotterdam in 2014, we dreamed of releasing music by our synth wave heroes Police des moeurs. This year, Sauvetage realised that dream with gloomy soundscapes, gritty synths and floating vocals. The artwork by Polish artist Aleksandra Waliszewska fitted the mood perfectly. Our 40th release, on solid gold vinyl, is definitely one to cherish.

Finishing the year with a bang, the emperor of Swedish EBM and dear friend Celldöd delivered 4 tracks combining Nordic chills with acid and commanding distorted vocals. The cover art by Anders Karlsson himself saw Pandora opening her box, the result of which will be felt for a long time.

As always, we say huge thanks to Ruud Sixtysix for working his mastering magic, and to Niels Vrijdag for his wonderful design work!
Finally, our gratitude goes out to everyone who played and bought these and other EE releases in 2023. Thanks for the continuous support! We wish you all a peaceful and healthy 2024 🖤

As a label, we love all our releases - but some of them are really special and touch us to the core. For a long time, we’ve been dedicated fans of Police des moeurs, the best francophone dark wave band on earth.

When they embarked on their first European tour 9 years ago, they did not have a gig in the Netherlands planned. We moved heaven and earth to organise a gig and party at WORM Rotterdam. Maarten Nauw and SSDJ Spacemaker spinned disco noir and dark wave and Police des Moeurs played an incredible live set.
Dutch electro wave legends Danny Bosten of Das Ding and Lidia Fiala of Nine Circles attended the event, and we were a little starstruck talking backstage to them and Francis about life, love and music and the harsh industry in which great artists struggle to get their music released and heard. On that night, we decided to start our own label: Electronic Emergencies was born by this wave of inspiration by talented, creative and lovely people. It’s a night we will never forget.

The day after, we invited Police des Moeurs to have dinner at our place, together with their tour manager and label owner Rémi Lafitte, and some of our friends. Another magical evening that ended with playing the old synths in our home together.
The sentimental journey continued. A week after we met Francis, he met Manuelle back in Montréal - now the singer of Police des Moeurs and also his wife. We had the privilege of meeting Manuelle at a PDM gig a few years later, and she and Francis kept a special place in our hearts. Sometimes you meet people who are so special, creative, intelligent and sweet that you wish they lived around the corner and not on the other side of the ocean.

We kept in touch, and when Police des Moeurs sent us the tracks on the Sauvetage EP, we were blown away. The record is exactly what we love. Hardcore emotional. Francophone. Complex. Beautiful and violent. We are honoured to release it, and it feels like a full circle moment after all these years.

🚨🚁 SAUVETAGE IS OUT TODAY!!! 🚁🚨
This story began in July 2014, as part of the first Police des moeurs European tour. On July 6, 2014, during their visit to Rotterdam, the group performed at the WORM Rotterdam and were subsequently invited to sleep at the house of charming hosts named Aad and Erik. 🖤🖤🖤
Legend has it that it was precisely on that night of July 2014, inspired by this happy meeting, that Erik and Aad decided to create their own label: Electronic Emergencies
On July 20, 2014, Police des moeurs returned to Montreal. On July 22, Francis met Manuelle who, a few years later, will join the band (and become his wife).�

In 2020, the poet Jonas Fortier invites Police des moeurs to participate to a benefit compilation in support of UNIST'OT'EN. At this moment, Francis proposed to Manuelle to submit a track she composed. Aad and Erik noticed this track and invited the band to produce a project that explored the same sounds, on their label.

This is how, almost 10 years later, SAUVETAGE highlights the beautiful story of a friendship and love, linked by music.��
We are therefore happy and proud to collaborate with these friends from overseas.
