A woman from Kolhapur has alleged that she was cheated out of a kidney without paying her the promised ₹15 lakh for it.
Pune: A woman from Kolhapur has alleged that she was cheated out of a kidney without paying her the promised ₹15 lakh for it. A case has been registered at the Koregaon Park Police Station. The Ruby Hall Clinic has also demanded an inquiry into the matter and on behalf of Ruby Hall Clinic, a similar letter has been sent to the police by Security Officer Ravi Kumar. However, based on this incident, questions have sprung up on the kidney transplant racket. According to Senior Police Inspector of the Koregaon Park Police Station, Vinayak Vetal, "On March 24, a woman had been admitted to the Ruby Hall Clinic under the name of Sujata Salunke. On March 29, while being discharged from the hospital, Salunke revealed that her name was Sarika Sutar. As proof, she presented her Aadhaar card. The Ruby Hall Clinic authority complained to us about the donor. The woman counter-complained that she had given the kidney under a false identity. We have referred the case to the State Health Department, which is the appropriate authority under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act." Adv. Manjusha Kulkarni, who represents the Ruby Hall Clinic, added, "Donors and recipients submit their documents to the hospital before the transplant. These documents are submitted to the Regional Authorization Committee in Sassoon. Transplant is allowed only after the documents are verified and the interview is conducted. The hospital has been cheated by the woman during the incident. During the transplant, the woman submitted documents under a different name. At the time of discharge, however, she requested to include a different name. It is not possible to change the name like this without any documents. The woman has two Aadhaar cards with different names. We have lodged a complaint against her at Koregaon Police Station for cheating us." In the meantime, the dean of Sassoon Hospital and the Organ Transplant Comm
Adar Poonawalla, CEO, Serum Institute of India (SII), speaking about the COVID-19 booster dose, said "I have appealed to the government as everyone who needs to travel needs to take the booster dose."
Pune: Adar Poonawalla, CEO, Serum Institute of India (SII), speaking about the COVID-19 booster dose, said "I have appealed to the government as everyone who needs to travel needs to take the booster dose." Currently, only frontline workers and those above 60 are now allowed to take booster doses in India — whether free in government centres or paid for in private hospitals. Adar Poonawalla, whose SII manufactured Covishield vaccine, spoke about the booster dose. He said, "Here, they are having an internal discussion and very soon in the next few days, they should make an announcement on the booster policy." "We've appealed to the government as everyone who needs to travel needs to take the booster dose. They're here having an internal discussion and very soon, in the next few days, they should make an announcement on the booster policy," said Poonawalla. "The low number of Covid-19 cases at the moment was because the country chose the right vaccine," Adar Poonawalla pointed out. "Our vaccines have proven to be better than those in other countries. Look at the US and Europe, they have a lot of cases. We have fewer cases because we chose the right vaccines," he said. Queried about whether the vaccines in their current form work on new variants of the Coronavirus, Poonawalla said, "They will work only if a booster dose is taken, as this will form protection from future variants. "In India, experts are deciding on mixing vaccines though it is allowed the world over," Poonawalla added. #pune #punenews #punecity #maharashtra #india #covid_19 #poonawala #vaccinationdone✔️ #booster #corona #dcn #dcnpune #dailycitynews

During the 16th anniversary Foundation Day celebrations of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Pune, MNS President Raj Thackeray
During the 16th anniversary Foundation Day celebrations of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Pune, MNS President Raj Thackeray, imitated Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and took a "How much he talks!" potshot at Sanjay Raut, Spokesman, Shiv Sena. True to form, Raut's rebuttal was scattingly witty. Are we gearing up for an acerbically witty war of words between MNS and Shiv Sena? In his inimitable style, Sanjay Raut held court: "People imitate only important personalities. There is a situation now where everyone is talking, so you can also speak. We didn't remain silent because of ED's actions. We will keep speaking, We are not afraid of anyone; we are nobody's pawns. This is Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena. There is no place for fake things. A Shiv Sainik will always speak what is true and right. pure gold doesn't fear the flame! Our politics is not based on imitations. Our politics is based on work, self-esteem and struggle. Some people are not active even when they are fit! Action speaks louder than words and there is no one as active as the Chief Minister. That's why the state is progressing." . #pune #punenews #punecity #mns #shivsena #politics #shivsainik #chiefminister #dcn #dcnpune #dailycitynews

Over the last few days, there has been a spike in the number of expensive bicycles in the Market Yard area being stolen.
Over the last few days, there has been a spike in the number of expensive bicycles in the Market Yard area being stolen. In the past week itself, six expensive bicycles have been stolen from the area. On Wednesday morning too, two more bicycles were stolen. In this matter, a case has been registered at the Market Yard Police Station by a resident of Market Yard, Rahul Shah. He had parked his two bicycles, which were very expensive in the parking lot of his house. The plaintiff and his wife are bicycle enthusiasts. His father had noticed in the morning that the bicycles were missing. When they came down to investigate the matter, they discovered that thieves had broken the chains attached to the bicycles and stolen them. Yesterday, DCN Pune had reported a deadly encounter that had taken place around 3am between a gang of thieves and a team of the Market Yard Police, led by Sub-Inspector Yuvraj Shinde. The former had broken into an apartment of the Sonya building in Chaphalkar Colony, Market Yard, and when discovered, they had hurled stones, choppers and sharp weapons at the police in an attempt to escape. In self-defence, the latter had to fire a round in the air. Unfortunately, the robbers had taken cover of the darkness and escaped. All these incidents of violence have created quite a panic at Market Yard. In a bid to allay the burgeoning fear and concern, Shah has appealed to the residents to be vigilant and help the police to prevent these untoward incidents. #robbery #crime #punepolice #cycles #stolen #criminals #marketyard #pune #dcnpune #dailycitynews
