Brush 2 is responding mutual aid to the Town of Milton. Milton has a large brush fire in the Blue Hills in the area of the DCR facility and the State Police Barracks. Mutual aid from several towns are on scene, and responding to the staging area at Houghton's Pond. Off duty firefighters are being recalled to cover our Stations.

⚠️ : The red hot Patriots are back home this Sunday afternoon with a 1pm kickoff — ‼️South Walpole traffic restrictions go into effect at 10am. If attending the game, please utilize Route 1 — as it is your quickest and most efficient way to Gillette. Officers will be assisting with traffic.

🪖 Sunday is also the Patriots annual game, and there is a military aircraft flyover scheduled for just prior to kickoff. If you happen to see them, there is no cause for alarm. Thank you! 🇺🇸🏟️

⚠️ : Please be aware, the Camy 5K Run & David 5K Walk will take place tomorrow morning (Sat. 11/9), starting at 9:30am. Both races start & end at the Italian American Club of Walpole on Stone St.

🚧 Stone St. will be shut down from School St. to Ellis St. during race-time, and access to Stone St. from Washington St. will be limited to residents only while the race takes place. Washington St. and Common St. traffic will proceed normally, however we ask that you use caution if traveling in these areas, as there will be runners & walkers on portions of both roads. Officers will be assisting with traffic along the race route. Thank you! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🇺🇸🇮🇹

Working fire. Garage Fire. 4 Shoreview Road. First arriving reports smoke showing from the garage door. Occupants are out of the house. Reported to be a small fire in the back of the garage.

UPDATE: Car 3 reports the fire is extinguished. Checking for any possible extension.

Due to the serious of the following incident I came off vacation for a few minutes! This is an email sent out from the Principle of Walpole High School.

Dear Walpole High School Community:
We are writing to share information about an upsetting incident that occurred this afternoon at Walpole High School. First and foremost, everyone is safe. This afternoon we fell victim to a hoax threat of violence call. This is similar to what we have seen around the state and what many neighboring districts experienced today.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Walpole Police Department received a call that included a threat of violence to the safety of students and staff at Walpole High School. The purpose of these phone calls is to disrupt the school day with threats of violence and to tie up local police and public safety resources. At this time, the source of these phone calls is unknown and to the best of our knowledge did not originate within this area. This is part of a national trend. Upon learning of this, we immediately put in place our safety and security protocols. This included placing the building into a Shelter-in-Place. During this time, no one was allowed to enter or exit Walpole High School, and students and staff were contained in their classrooms and cafeteria.
The Walpole Police Department responded to Walpole High School immediately and implemented their protocols to conduct a search of Walpole High School. Following the search, it was determined by Walpole Police that this was a hoax/swatting call. The school is currently being taken out of Shelter-in-Place to resume our normal school day including any school events. We understand that events like this can cause increased anxiety, however, we are here to support our school community.
We appreciate the collaborative relationship with the Walpole Police Department who were on scene to support us during this time. They are in constant communication with Walpole Public School Administration to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff. Through the teamwork of our School Resource Officer and each school’s administration, we are committed to working together to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable learning environment for all students. '

TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR 10/2 & 10/3

Tomorrow and Thursday, paving will begin on Walpole Street in between Evergreen Circle and Walnut Ave. Detours will begin at 830, allowing school traffic to settle.

Walpole Street will be open to southbound traffic only from Walnut Ave onward. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Chapel Street, onto Winslow, and back up Walnut. Side streets to Walpole Street in this work area will be blocked off to residents only.

If possible, avoid the area. If that is not possible, please plan for delays.
