Since August we have been putting out episodes for Season 4 and we have now touched the state from the Mountains to the Sea. Our 8th episode will be out tomorrow morning! If you know anything about us, we do this for fun and we all work full time. Maybe one day this will be our jobs. We have several more interviews in the basket and are working on November. We thank all of our for listening. Well over 1000 listens now and we owe it to yall! Thank you to all the coaches and communications directors we have talked with to get these scheduled. Jefferson Forest tangles with Halifax tonight as the Cavaliers look to up their mark to 3-0. Wednesday, I talked with the head coach of the Cavaliers, J.T Crews. He talked about the stresses of head coaching during the season.

High School football opens for a lot of teams in the Central Virginia area tonight. One of those teams is the E.C Glass Hilltoppers. I spoke with Jamar Lovelace earlier this week & began by asking him, is there more excitement or more nerves headed into the season opener (it’s at Lord Botetourt)

Brookville High School Welcomes Back Alumni Jason Hudnall as New Head Softball Coach

Brookville is thrilled to announce that Coach Hudnall, an esteemed alumni, is returning to his alma mater as the new Head Coach of the Softball team. Hudnall brings a deep connection to the school and a wealth of coaching experience to the program. Hudnall, a proud graduate of Brookville High School, has had a successful coaching career that spans a decade plus.

"We are beyond excited to welcome Coach Hudnall back to the Bees community as our new Head Softball Coach," said Athletic director Jeff Crews. "His passion for the game, combined with his deep ties to our school, make him the perfect leader for our softball program. We believe that Coach Hudnall will inspire our student-athletes both on and off the field, just as he was inspired during his time here." Throughout his coaching career, Hudnall has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, player development, and building strong, cohesive teams. He has coached at other area schools where he helped lead numerous successful teams. Coach Hudnall is eager to bring this same level of success to Brookville. "I’m incredibly honored and excited to return to the Bees in this new role," said Hudnall. "This school has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m looking forward to giving back to the community that gave me so much. I’m eager to work with our talented athletes and help them achieve their goals, both on and off the field."

As the Brookville Softball team gears up for the upcoming season, Coach Hudnall is focused on building team culture, communication with parents and athletes, and continuity among all levels of the softball program.

The team will begin their season on March 17th at home against the Colonels of Altavista.

Furman All-American Frank Selvy, one of the greatest players in college basketball history, passed away this morning at his home in Simpsonville, S.C., surrounded by his family. He lived to be 91 years old.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Frank Selvy, Furman’s all-time greatest athlete, a consensus All-American, NBA all-star, distinguished member of the College Basketball Hall of Fame, and one of the greatest scorers in the history of college basketball,” said Jason Donnelly, Furman’s Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Brookville High School Announces Hiring of New Girls Basketball Coach

Brookville High School is excited to announce the hiring of Nick Lawrence as the new Head Coach of the Girls Basketball team. With a proven track record of success, Lawrence brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a commitment to excellence that will undoubtedly elevate the program to new heights. Lawrence joins Brookville with a number of years of coaching experience at various levels. With his coaching style and a focus on player development, Lawrence has consistently led teams to success, both on and off the court.

"We are thrilled to continue to have Coach Lawrence in this family," said Jeff Crews, Athletic Director. "Coach Lawrence has a clear vision for our girls' basketball program and a commitment to fostering both athletic and personal growth among our student-athletes. We are confident that under Coach Lawrence’s leadership, our team will continue to grow and achieve great things. He believes in building a strong team culture based on hard work, discipline, and mutual respect, and is dedicated to preparing players for success both on the court and in life.”

The Lady Bees team will kick off the upcoming season on December 2nd at home vs Gretna High School.

Most people had never seen the spread offense on a consistent basis until Brad Bradley came to Central Virginia. Coach Bradley has carried that to Heritage. I asked him about having the reputation as a spread guy when his teams are constantly monsters on the defense.
