Sup folks,

Still dealing with finding a new base-of-operations. Personally I'm not hearing back from people I should have which in turn has held me up from planning new stuff. Beginning to wonder if my efforts in being/running a label meant anything or not, judging by the tumbleweeds that blow through my Meta FB pages.

Whatever, I'm alive and the label's dormant until further notice. Live life as full as you can, because these times ladies and gentlemen...

So there’s no new h.q. for M.C.R. as of yet, so I had to pull a .a389 and do the storage facility thing (a fine secure and climate-controlled place at that). That aside, from the gov. playing games with me, I’m going solo presently to finish some loose-end issh while checking on friends and fam that been apart from the damn pandemic.

BIG changes with ensue for M.C.R. over months to come, but the old heads will recall that this label has a direction: heavy; whatever the form. This varies from human to human, so I’ve been building to accommodate. Toronto sadly has made it unsustainable for the label post-Covid-19 that’s just the facts, so in-transit for current. I will have stuff up at the store, but because it’s stored and miles away from myself at times, it will take a minute to get delivered but I would appreciate every sale that happens with’ thank you’ extras. Please take care of yourselves in the interim as well; the noise will continue once again

My how time (with pandemic assistance) can fly huh?
As a label, there are times where you are simply proud of something and there are no words to try and quantify the love. 7 years birthed this day for a thunderous album I will forever stack against any other newcomers debut, seriously.
Sealclubber’s only (so far) opus “Stoical” should still be in the hands of all true lovers of quasi-hardcore and post metallic Sludge. Long live Sealclubber!!

Still very available up at the shop on CD (check link in bio as per usual)💀🤘🏽

The 9th Anniversary of M.C.R. was yesterday Jan. 20th. The owner (pictured) is recovering from pandemic stagnancy while working on a couple things; both personal and label-wise.

Thank you to all supporters thus far; got way more to go. Had a rocky first few years, but survived and grew. This is no different, never resist change when it’s calling you. Peace ✌🏽

✨Believe it or not, M.C.R.s 9th anniversary is today; the re-emerge is comin', but gotta wait for the boss y'know.🎉

Seems that people are reporting they don't see the site or some people have reported some nonsense about the page *sigh*

Cant just be away from things for a few weeks to deal with life while people with loads of free time (no ideas sadly) cause whatever collateral crap to make one look into. Personally all is calm and much better than past months, but with a move in the Spring and me basically doing a cold restart at over 50 solo with no help... it'll be a sec.

So much calamity currently with different peeps worldwide, be kind to yourselves and your close ones. It's more about climate anyway, but that's another page/site...

Season's Greetings too until I pipe up again just before year's end as to what's up with things here at M.C.R. cheers all!

What’s up people? I’m alive yes, been doin’ it for a minute in the personal life; actually looking for some significant change there in the next while.

I am taking care of self, first (my friends and artists also insist), so worry not. However sad as it is, Grale is the only output from M.C.R. this year, where there were two more to get done in the Spring and Summer respectfully. That of course hasn’t happened yet and is to be seen if they will before the year is out; the bet right now is they won’t.

Pandemic woes ran deep through the music community this past while. For some the very thing that has held so many together through such a time, we almost seemly dump the artists and supporting infrastructure like it’s nothing at the first sign of difficulty. Not so much for the independent markets, but some people still haven’t gotten back out to see any concerts yet, but are making their way. This will all take time to get back to a level. Friends started going back to their clubs for shows booked only a few months ago, and looks like Bruce is flying in Maiden this next week or so for a show. Pandemic hasn’t been ‘declared’ over, it’s with us for a while, nonetheless we go on anew or afresh.

I am still open for business in a more dormant capacity, but will be looking to expand and do a few things when this year rides out and my life’s a bit more on the stable side. May be somewhere geographically else for 2023 as well.To help I may do a sale soon for some unreal merchandise and releases, as the few I had though the heat of the pandemic were a bit help. So when I know more, you’ll know etc.

A BIG SHOUT-OUT TO ALL SUPPORTERS WHO PICKED UP RECORDINGS DURING THIS HARDED TIME. FROM US INDIE ARTISTS AND LABEL, OUR HUMBLE THANKS!!

Three scant years ago, Medusa Crush Recs. put out a super monster of a release, and that very much stands the feeling even to this day. The monster that “Rhetoric of the Image” was exactly would elicit a “Damn!” every time it was played. Name your heaviest, and most earthy and honest sonic outfits; chances are that this band can roll over them, or at least stand toe-to-toe humbly with. With very few exceptions, easily one of this label’s heaviest (again, in ALL regards), and favourite artists and releases of our roster.

So with that, a very Happy 3rd Anniversary to the guys in Torpor! It was a pleasure to be involved with such a fine release; along with collaboration cohorts Truthseeker, Moment of Collapse, Smithfoodgroup DIY, and the mighty Sludgelord Records. Much success with their upcoming recording work et all; it’s bound to be something truly special, it’s been building.

10 years in and still holding tight

Album 3 is finding its shape, these songs are heavier, noisier, raw and sombre.

Been silent here for sure, as a few things are being seen to such as the passing of family & friends (nothing anyone ever wants to have to deal with I'm sure).

Easing into the year definitely, but readying the next long-awaited release, stay tuned and thank you for sticking around if you have, cheers!

Some heavy stuff from the Great White North today. Who says nothing good came out of lockdown? Introducing Canada’s Grale, made up of Greg Dawson (of Olde) on the guitars, Daniel Allen (of Indian Handcrafts) on vocals and guitars, Mark Rand (of Cross Dog) on bass, and Kevin Farmer (of The Compound) on drums. Grale recorded their debut EP, February 2021’s, “Agitacion” without ever being in the same room. If you think that’s impressive, wait ‘til you hear it! Late in 2021, Grale also released a cover of Entombed’s, “Seeing Red.”

With this kind of firepower, it’s no wonder that “Agitacion” is a plethora of heavy riffs, condensed into five tracks that fans of High on Fire, Judas Priest, and the mighty Motörhead will love. Opening track and lead single, “M**h Aggressor” also features Rob Urbinati (vocalist of Toronto thrash metal outfit Sacrifice), with tremendous interplay with Allen, as they split vocal duty. And that riff! Wow, that’s a headbanger that is a straight shot of dopamine for metalheads throughout, even the one mellow part that just leaves you on the edge of your seat, waiting for that riff to return. Rest assured, the riff returns, and this is a great song.

Go hit up the page and show the boys love as well; g’wan, do it. The basic skinny on them is from their own bio and goes as follows:

Already an all star unit featuring members of Cross Dog, Indian Handcrafts and Olde, GRALE...enlisted contributions from members of metal
heavyweights Sacrifice, Revocation, Gargoyl, and other guests to elevate their “pandemic project” into a fully-fleshed and ferocious 6-song assault.

This be the spectacular limited cassette version of their debut EP ‘Agitacion’ out this Bandcamp Friday on M.C.R. I’ll find/tack some video eye candy of the gents too in a bit for all, just so swamped currently with
everything, but life is such for all these days. Stay tuned, stay safe.

Hoped this would have been gotten back by now; personal account part of a rash of hacks across both Facebook and Instagram. So many affected, waiting on Meta to sort this, so I wait (people who need to get me can also get me here). Stay safe, be human, ‘cause it can get trying.

Oh yeah, news VERY soon on what’s next up (honestly, been busy trying).
