Jensen Interceptor takes over our 13th edition of International Chromies with Powerhouse Production Pt.1. - A collection of Jersey club, electro, happy hardcore, denbow & techno infused edits / remixes he has crafter over the years, exclusively for his sets, but now much to our delight, is unleashed for all to enjoy. All money raised from this release will be split 3 ways, between Lubunya Deprem DayanIsmasl who provide aid & care for LGBTQIA+ and sex workers affected by the earthquake in Turkey, Direct Relief who provide emergency support & supplies for Turkey & Syria earthquake survivors and Insight LGBTQ NGO who provide free psychological and legal help to LGBTQI + people in Ukraine. The timing of this is really weird but this edit came about because International Chrome's label manager, Teamy, put this album on the turntable at the wrong speed two weeks ago and thought it sounded fun at that speed. His girlfriend Carin then sent it to Jensen Interceptor saying "do an edit!" - we sent it off to be mastered a week later, and it was sent back a week later, just after the announcement of his death. So goodbye & thank you, Sakamoto San for your endless magic & inspiration. This is an edit that we were planning to drop as part of an upcoming Jensen Interceptor edit/remixes pack, but given the sad news of his passing, it's up on our Bandcamp for free / name your price. We kick off 2023 with a stacked 12” that sets a blueprint for what to expect from the label over the coming months as we discover new possibilities of where Electro and other club styles can go. German producer/rapper/DJ $ombi steps up with her first vinyl release backed with remixes by legendary producers from three generations of club music: Yazzus, Jensen Interceptor and dbridge all of which view the original through different lenses. In a rap with lyrics in her native tongue, the original mix sees $ombi extolling the virtues of discovering and accepting yourself, and the inner peace that comes from it. The first remix comes from International Chrome’s own Jensen Interceptor who hits us with an aquatic electro funk rewind echoing the Detroit bass pioneers whilst still sounding from a future oasis UK legend, DBridge, follows this up with his “Surging Mix”, discovering the hidden link between Drum & Bass and Detroit Electro and showing that even after 30 years he is still determined to take music to uncharted territory, never resting on his laurels. Closing off the EP, the hottest young producer in dance music, Yazzus, ramps up the energy across the course of five minutes that return techno to its roots in afrofuturism. International Chromies Vol. 10 is here!!! During the initial months of the Covid-19 pandemic, we, like everyone else, felt overwhelmed & powerless in the face of so much happening across the globe. Jensen Interceptor Interceptor had the thought to channel this frustration positively & together with friends across continents our International Chromies series was born. Since then we've put out nine releases featuring tracks by big-hitters in the Electro scene like Mall Grab / Jordon Alexander, Amadeezy & Cyan85 as well as fast-rising stars such as LUZ1E, Salome., Nikki Nair and Mutant Joe We had no idea how popular this series would be; over a year on & with your support, together we've raised over 14,000€, all of which has gone directly to nine charities or community causes like Sufra NW London in the London UK, Campaign Against Homophobia in Poland, Underground Music Academy in Detroit USA and Mission Oxygen India. 100% of the money we take for this release will be directed to the Ukrainian Red Cross & other charities working with people displaced by the war in Ukraine. As this is an ever-changing situation we'll send the money to wherever we think needs the most help at the time we send it, & will be prioritising those working with POC who are experiencing extra difficulties at border crossings - if you can afford to do so we encourage donating directly as well.
