Preliminarily Dogs are temperament tested. After classes are completed, shadow visits are conducted with a trainer, dog, and handler.

Shadowlee Canine trains, certifies, and insures therapy dog teams then creates and directs programs based on the needs of children in schools, adults in healthcare communities and Veterans. Dogs and their Handlers go through a 10 week class taught by Professional Certified Trainers Susan Fireman and Jill Fingerhood. Dogs are then certified and insured therapy and emotional support animals. Each ye

ar the dog is recertified by a trainer and an annual veterinary exam must be completed

Shadowlee Canine Trainers, Susan and Jill are also available to assist with addressing behavioral problem and in-home training. They are AKC evaluators, and have trained dogs who have earned AKC titles for advanced performance and obedience competition. They have worked with law enforcement, search and rescue, and conducted numerous seminars throughout the USA and Canada. They offer the following dog and puppy training services:

• Obedience Training & Good Manners
• Problem Solving
• Behavior Modification
• Certified Therapy Dog Training
• AKC Competition Obedience
• Doggie Yoga! Some of the common training issues addressed include:

• Greeting people without jumping
• “Stay” on command until released
• "Come" when called
• Barking
• Nipping and chewing
• Separation anxiety
• Walking nicely on leash
• “Leave It” on command
• Housebreaking
• And more
