Ep413: Erik Denno and Darren Zentek (Kerosene 454)
The legendary Maryland/DC band has a reissue of their classic record Came by to Kill Me on Solid Brass. The first record to be written exclusively with Darren, who would later play in Office of Future Plans, Channels, Continuals and J. Robbins Band as well. A powerful live band that practiced 5 or 6 times a week and toured relentlessly, we get a rare window into a beloved band that existed in a time before the internet as we know it exists. Came by to Kill Me, recorded by J. Robbins is a great document of a the band, and is the first time it is available digitally. It's a song by song breakdown for a ripper band that were contemporaries with many Dischord faves.

Ep412: Jamie Stillman (Harriet the Spy, EarthQuaker Devices, the Party of Helicopters)
Harriet the Spy has a wonderful reissue of Unf**kwithable, through Solid Brass. Jamie played the drums in that band, but is better known to most as the Impressario behind Earthquaker Devices. As well as the Party of Helicopters, Relaxer, etc. There is much talk of touring, revisiting older material, Ohio, rocking while aging, and all that. As well as, yes... quite a bit of gear talk. It has been a long time since the Berlin based experimental duo has been on protonic reversal. There's a BEST OF the band (live in Napoli!), which also serves as a great introduction as well as other newish records. The whiplash of touring with Alexander's band Einstürzende Neubauten and then immediately doing hackedepicciotto. Soundtracks, At the Mountains of Madness, nomad life, musical discovery, touring on a budget and sometimes by train... and how not to not be completely annoyed by your musical and life partner that you are surrounded by almost the entire time.

Friends. He also hosts his long running podcast, Conan Neutron’s Protonic Reversal. Conan
shares the motivation behind his podcast and why providing a platform for musicians to
connect is so important to him. Zach and Conan discuss the concept behind Secret Friends,
what it’s like to play with Dale Crover and the evolution of the lineup. Conan also talks about

If you haven't already please join the protonic reversal patreon at $1 a month please do so right now. Listener numbers have never been higher on all platforms, yet patrons have gone DOWN in number. It is paying for itself, but just barely because I also support other creative folks from the show account. I currently have 7 episodes scheduled for this month alone, and that isn't including the one that's in the patron only queue right now.

*I'm not going to keep this pace up if I don't see an equivalent amount of support from the listenership*. It'll be back to 4 episodes a month, period. In fact... if there isn't a significant jump up. You should see the wait between patron only and general feed to become even longer, and you'll see more clips with enticements to join the patreon.

Everybody advises me to just do paywalled exclusives, but that is not anything i'm interested in doing.
