One Vibe Africa is proud to present “Made In Kisumu” on Saturday October 24th 2015 at Jomo Kenyatta Grounds in Kisumu! Made In Kisumu brings the finest musicians in Kenya together with world-renowned artists and innovators for a night of music & purpose. One Vibe is a nonprofit organization started in Kisumu to empower disadvantaged youth by providing after school music and arts classes, which ins
pire them to develop their artistic talents and avoid negative activities. One Vibe is also the organizer of the annual Madaraka Festival held at the EMP Museum in Seattle, Washington. One Vibe’s programs build a bridge between Kisumu and Seattle through music, art, and cultural activities. The 1st Madaraka Festival took place on June 1st 2014 at the EMP Museum and was a groundbreaking experience for Seattle’s music and arts community. It featured performances by Owuor Arunga, The Physics, Naomi Wachira, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis among others. The sold out show was hailed as the best ‘African oriented’ concert in the Northwest’s history. The 2nd annual Madaraka Festival took place on May 29th 2015 at the EMP Museum and featured performances by Owuor Arunga, Sauti Sol, Blitz the Ambassador among other artists, the event helped raise funds toward One Vibe’s Piga Picha Project. As a result of Madaraka’s success, One Vibe has committed to renaming “Unite The People Festival”, it’s eight year old annual event in Kisumu to “Made In Kisumu” to help unite it’s activities abroad to the work in Kenya, and draw attention to the plight of youth in Kisumu.
