Safety pros: as you plan for 2026, here’s a simple (and surprisingly freeing) idea: Stop treating “safety” like it needs its own little sub-culture.

The goal isn’t to build a "safety" culture that sits beside “how we really do work.” The goal is to shape workplace culture so safe work is simply how work gets done—every day, under real-world conditions.

That’s where a lot of safety efforts stall:
1️⃣“Culture” becomes posters and slogans instead of day-to-day conditions and decisions.
2️⃣“Communication” becomes reminders and noise instead of clarity people can use.

To sharpen your approach in 2026, check out the books inspired by the podcast:
📗 Rethinking SAFETY Culture — practical ways to strengthen the conditions that support safe, reliable work. https://a.co/d/iLh6FXu
📗 Rethinking SAFETY Communications — how to design messaging that earns attention, improves engagement, and drives action where work actually happens. https://a.co/d/25lhTjY
