Our Shack by Claire Branand

There is a sacred cedar shack
Out in Shadyside
Where you always long to hurry back
And sit by the fireside.

Or dream on the deck and drink a bit,
Out in Shadyside.
Where Bruno lives in a Doberman pit,
and Guido roams outside.

And Squeaky squeaks at a feisty frog,
Out in Shadyside,
where Mr. HIilton has the knack
For riddles to be tried

Where David and Claire founded Eden
In the garden outside,
and inside, under the heavens,
Out in Shadyside.

And the Svelte swans swam in herds
On the edge of the pond,
White-winged, black-eyed birds
Bewitching without a wand.

There is a sheltered, sultry shack,
out in Shadyside.
Where Paradise lures you back
To the moon, and tide,

And the fog horn"s music haunts the shore,
Out in Shadyside,
And the worst of times are times of yore
With you by my side.
