The Cross Timbers Gazette newspaper was established in Double Oak, TX in 1979, and is the largest locally-owned newspaper in Denton County, serving the towns and communities of Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lantana, Argyle, Northlake, Bartonville, Copper Canyon, Double Oak, Justin and Robson Ranch.

The city of Highland Village will spray for mosquitoes Friday through Sunday in the Castlewood area after a trap tested positive for West Nile Virus.

City crews will spray between midnight and 6 a.m. each morning and will concentrate spraying efforts on the habitat of the Culex mosquito: creeks, drainage culverts and wooded wet areas.

The city encouraged residents to:
Drain standing water around their homes to reduce mosquito breeding sites.
Dress in pants and long sleeves when outside in mosquito-infested areas.
Apply an insect repellent that contains DEET to exposed skin and to clothing when outdoors.
