A vital artist in the Hong Kong underground circuit, Simtub plays Progressive / Melodic Techno and various micro genres of House and Trance music. His sets are known to be evocative and energetic, backed by his understanding of what galvanizes the dance floor.

Simtub grew up during the intersection of the hacienda movement in Northern England amidst the rise of UK underground rave culture and when superclubs such as Miss Moneypenny's, Turnmills, Cream and Fabrics dominated the landscape. This period in time heavily influenced his musical style and his sets continue to paint a unique narration of classic influences.

Simtub is also the co-founder of After Dark Sessions, an event night originally conceived to promote melodic driven music in the less exposed cities around Asia.

Darka kicked off his DJ career in late 90s and was the champion of "Hong Kong Pioneer DJ Competition" in 2003. It was a milestone of his spinning career and made himself a well-known figure amongst dance floor. Since then, he has devoted all his vigour to the development of electronic dance music in Hong Kong.

His name has come across with many notably DJs and producers, such as Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren,Timo Maas , Jimmy Van M, James Zabiela, Tall Paul, Evil Nine, Radio Slave, Meat Katie, Elite Force, Stel, JDS, John Graham (Quivver), Phil K, Adam Freeland, Ricky Stone, Luke Fair and Andy Moor. The co-operations with those big guns strongly influenced his music styles and techniques. Deep House is his signature, loops and effects are his trumps.

On top of the ones own effort and passion, no doubt Darka's achievements are more or less in connection with his respectable "Master cm mentor" - Mr. David Lam, an orthodox DJ and professional producer, who does not only teach him the turntable tricks and know-how, but also broaden his horizons of borderless dance music universe.

Kajan has a unique position as resident in one of the world’s most beautiful restaurants: The Jane Antwerp**. There is just a refined way about how Kajan delicately combines warm, soulful, deep cuts with raw and quirky gems. Kajan is a true collector and manipulator of music: in his esteemed 6 hours dj sets, he defines the harmonious balance, by embracing diverse rhythms in his selections to create sonic appetite.

2022 marked the release of ‘Umami Fulfillmento’ on the compilation Enclose: The Sound of The Jane. A true milestone to be on this limited vinyl-release alongside Sebastian Mullaert, Anfisa Letyago, Sue Avenue, Maxim Lany, Gerd Janson, Marino Canal and others. Further studio and live-production work comes with his creative input as performer and producer in Rotterdam-based Pilot Wave Live, and Breda-based Omega Zen Live. In both projects, he performs all analogue live sets.

BkynD, born and raised in Busan, has a diverse musical background shaped by her experiences in New York. Starting her DJ career in the vibrant party scene of Hong Kong, she has been exposed to a wide range of genres that influence her eclectic style.

BkynD uses her music as a means of communication, whether it's in a serene yoga studio or a lively nightlife setting. She believes that the energy in music is paramount and strives to spread positive vibes and beats that connect with people.

In 2023, BkynD decided to expand her musical passion and embarked on a production journey. She traveled to Ibiza and became part of the Mixmaster community, training under esteemed producers such as Marc Romboy, Robert Babicz, James Rial (Audiojack), and Seamus Haji (Defected Records).

On the line up, BkynD from Busan brings her Organic sound and our favourite local Legend Darka joins us once again for a session of raw melodic electronic dance music. Oh it’s also my Birthday weekend so come down and have a drink and dance with us.

Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Karla is based in Hong Kong. She is a long time lover of electronic music and how it powerfully connects people, shifts the energy and gives a sense of togetherness. She started her DJ journey in Moscow in 2018 to share her passion with the world.

During her time in Hong Kong, she has played at events, festivals, bars and private parties, such as Maggie Choo's, Dragon-i, Popinjays, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Eco Carnival Festival, Silent Disco Asia, and others.

Karla loves music with high energy levels, rolling bass lines and energizing synths. Whilst her style tends towards peak techno and trance, she adjusts and blends melodic, groovy and ethnic elements for a unique atmosphere. Expect a journey with hypnotic and deep tunes, intertwining classics with the unexpected.

Originally a metalhead, Romaik fell in love with trance when he discovered it through RaveMama back in 2018.
After a year of raving, Romaik decided to try his luck behind the decks. He wanted to share his newfound love for trance but most importantly to make the people dance. He then expended the spectrum of music to include progressive, techno, hard trance and psytrance.
Always on the lookout for new sounds, expect fresh tunes mixed with modern and all-time classics.

Based in Hong Kong, TALTO is an avid music lover from a young age and has always listened to and explored a broad spectrum of different genres of music. A techno lover at heart, she loves to incorporate these elements wherever she goes. When allowed to play in her true unique style, she will be sure to bring you on a hypnotizing and curated journey through a dark and euphoric landscape. She radiates passion and energy when performing on set and this is proved to be infectious on the dancefloor.
TALTO’s style is a blend of techno, melodic and electronica. She is currently working on making music that represents her fond memories of growing up in Hong Kong.

Whether it’s wrecking dance-floors with thunderous trap and future bass, lifting spirits up with euphoric trance, turning it up to 11 with bass shattering electro or shuffling the night away with some groovy house and techno, Don Octavius refuses to be defined by one genre.
Forever on the hunt for new and interesting tunes, the Hong Kong born DJ has been a musician since the age of 4, playing percussion in his school concert and jazz bands. After discovering electronic music in high school, he learned to mix and eventually found a niche performing a wide array of genres.

He has performed in venues across Hong Kong & Boston, always throwing down hard hitting and energetic sets for the crowds. He has opened for festival heavy-weights YellowClaw, Slushii, & Jewelz & Sparks, as well as for trance titans John Askew & Alex DiStefano. For Caius Chung, there is never a shortage of great tracks to throw down on the decks and no greater joy than watching the dance-floor light up.

Raahil is a Hong Kong-based progressive house DJ and producer. He started his journey in 2004 when he was first introduced to underground electronic music and has never looked back since. Over the years, Raahil has drawn inspiration from musical craftsmen like Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Cid Inc, Alex O’Rion, Subandrio (to name a few)., influencing the evolution of his signature deep and proggy sound.

Aside from his DJ endeavours, Raahil has recently been honing his skills as a music producer. With his debut release slated for the end of 2023, one can expect an immersive soundscape that showcases his unique talent.

Deasy is a Hong Kong based DJ, originally from London which is where his love for mixing began - on the 1210’s blending Drum & Bass back in 2005. After being a regular on the London radio station ‘Inner City FM’, he has moved to Hong Kong where he is currently a resident at Oma & co-founded the Melodic House & Techno club night ‘MELODIC’.

‘Deasy Tv’ also keeps things fresh, a platform for any DJ to showcase their talent.

After Dark Sessions Vol.12 returns to Social Room Friday 10th March.

Finsent C is an artist native to Hong Kong, who has seen his sound evolve innumerably since his initial foray into DJing in 2009. Having been a drummer and member of a local band in his formative years, he eventually sought refuge in electronic music; cultivating a sound that can best be described as fluid, and with an emphasis on the hypnotic spectrum of techno. He perceives sets as flowing journeys, which requires time, and an element of patience to achieve.

His music project - Cipher, is a metaphor for his musical direction and vision – 'experiencing' parties that verge on the ritualistic, to which point they have been described as otherworldly.
Artists both locally and internationally continue to be invited to express their various forms of deep, experimental and meditative sounds.

Finsent has been playing in many respectable venues and festivals both locally and internationally. From Hong Kong’s Sonar festival and Shifumiz to Wonderfruit in Thailand, Finsent manages to give out his rolling DJ sets at those large-scale festivals. Yet, he’s also comfortable to play in intimate club venues. You can catch his journey-like DJ set in clubs like Acadnana, 宀 Club, Oma and Social Room. In 2020, he debuted on Boiler Room as one-third of the local Collective Utopia. All these asides, he fuses experimental electronic music with contemporary dance performance. Recently he’s played out in many Asian regions such as Japan and Vietnam; he’s also touring in China, injecting a kinetic groove into China’s underground scene.

香港土生土長的創作者Finsent C，自2009年開展DJ生涯後，他對音樂的看法變得更洗練。曾當過鼓手、樂隊成員，他最終在電子音樂中找到真正的啟迪，尤其是那種不著痕跡，且具如催眠攝人魔力的Techno音樂。他將DJ打碟一事視為一趟川流不息的旅程——這是DJ與觀眾間須花時間和耐性才能臻達的境界。他更以「Cipher」的名義，來展現他對派對音樂的期許與視野——Finsent 最希望觀眾能如被「受洗」般，得到一次超凡脫俗的經驗。不論是本地還是國外的創作者，都能夠在「Cipher」的派對上，以深邃、富實驗性、具靈修面向的聲音與樂章來表現他們的創作力。

Finsent於本地和海外大大小小派對場合，施展過他的混身解數。如本地的Sonar Festival和Shifumiz、泰國的Wonderfruit，也是本地地下夜店的常駐DJ，如Acadana、宀 club、Oma、Social Room均可見到Finsent的踪影。於2020年，他以派對組織Utopia之名義，踏足了Boiler Room的國際舞台。除此之外，Finsent還會跟香港後現代舞蹈團體合作，將電子音樂與現代舞融會為實驗性的表演。他也獲邀到其他亞洲地區（日本、越南）演出，同時遊走中國各大城市，為北京、成都、上海、杭州等地的地下派對場域，注入全新的舞動能量。

Join DJ Shanda on her journey of exhilaration. Shanda started her DJ journey in 2020 and has been frequently seen in underground clubs such as Social Room, Void and 10+ local event labels. She co-created electronic music party label “Abyss” and is part of “NoManZone” music collective. Her signature sound is high energy, upbeat, driving Techno and House with catchy melodic leads.

Shanda was aspired to influence people with her profound love of music and wants her music to be a doorway to joy and freedom.

With over 10 years of DJ experience, Stephen Hinch has played in the most elite clubs going in places such as London, Ibiza, Hong Kong & more.

After having been introduced to dance music from an early age, it was only a matter of time before he started attending events. Then at the age of 19 he made his DJ debut at iconic Ministry Of Sound in London. This was soon followed up by multiple nights at other top clubs in the UK & Europe.

He has supported huge names such as Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, W&W, The Thrillseekers, Sneidjer, Signum, Neptune Project, Paul Webster & many more.

Having relocated to Hong Kong 2 years ago he is now a regular at some of Hong Kong’s elite clubs.

Our first event of 2022 has been a long time coming. Presenting to you Volume 11 of our ongoing series of After Dark Sessions featuring the finest rotations of DJ’s from the local scene.

We welcome back SHANDA and STEPHEN HINCH who have both graced the decks at our previous events and who play out regularly in local scene. We are also delighted to invite back our talented Dutch friend KAJAN CHOW; making his first trip to Hong Kong from The Netherlands since the pandemic. Co founder SIMTUB will set the tone of the night with his trade mark melodic house picks.
