The United States Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has achieved significant progress in Nepal's Compact Implementation over the past year. 🇳🇵🇺🇸

Notably, they have made remarkable strides in constructing an 18-kilometer-long cross-border electricity transmission line. Additionally, this year, they have issued a renewed call for proposals for a 297-kilometer transmission line.

Furthermore, three substations have been contracted, including the Butwal-Nawalparasi West Compact. The MCC has also supported road maintenance efforts, upgraded testing equipment, and provided technical training. Moreover, they have approved a 40-kilometer section for the Flower Depth Reclamation (FDR) technique.

Lastly, the MCC's commitment to poverty reduction and innovative problem-solving has been commendable, with the U.S. Ambassador Dean Thompson expressing confidence in timely project completion and emphasizing collaboration with the Nepali government. 🌟

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized that no government-run industries should operate at a loss.

In a briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, he urged for a focus on industrialization, stating that infrastructure such as roads and electricity are in place.

He suggested promoting small investments, modernizing agriculture, and launching startups to create jobs and reduce imports.

Oli warned against running unprofitable industries and stressed prioritizing industries that create jobs and promote a healthy society over those linked to alcohol and to***co.

The National Freedom Party (रास्वपा) sought final clarification from Mukul Dhakal before expelling him from the party. 😳

During a central committee meeting held on today at the party headquarters in Banasthali, they decided to seek clarification through the Disciplinary Commission.

Prior to this, Dhakal had already been removed from his position as a general member. In response to the clarification, Mukul provided his answer on July 31. He has also posted his response on social media. 😀

Interesting : A rare catfish species, “Amblicyceps arunachalensis”, previously thought to be found only in India, has been discovered in Nepal's Koshi River by a Nepali-Chinese research team. 😳🐠

This species is listed as critically endangered by the IUCN. The study also uncovered another rare fish species, “Erethistes sikula”, in the Koshi and Lohandra Rivers. Both species face threats from local overfishing and habitat destruction.

RIP : Indian spiritual leader Pilot Baba has passed away at 86 in Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. 🪦 😓

Originally named Kapil Singh, he was once a fighter jet pilot in the Indian Air Force. After a life-changing incident in 1996, he left his military career to follow a spiritual path, becoming known as Pilot Baba.

He had a strong connection to Nepal, where he was well-known for his ashram in Surya Binayak, Bhaktapur. Pilot Baba will be laid to rest in Uttarakhand, and his ashrams will observe three days of mourning.

Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has revoked the licenses of two internet service providers. The licenses were automatically canceled after the providers failed to renew within the given timeframe.

The affected companies are Parsa Telecommunication and Infocom Pvt. Ltd. NTA has urged these companies to settle any dues promptly.

Earlier, in June, seven other companies also had their licenses canceled for similar reasons. 👍
