πBlessings in a Backpack- Longwood, LI is part of a National Organization operating in 45 states and D.C. Their mission? Providing food for food-insecure children over school weekends. From humble beginnings feeding 50 children a decade ago, they now serve over 500 students every school weekend, all thanks to their dedicated team of volunteers who fundraise, purchase, pack, and deliver food each week.β€
π©βπ¦ Meet Trisha Ewald: As a founder of Longwood Blessings in a Backpack, Trisha has served as Program Coordinator for the past 10 years. In addition to her role with Longwood Blessings, she also works full-time with the National Organization, overseeing approximately 100 other Blessings in a Backpack program along the East Coast.
π¨βπ§ Meet John Ammirati: John joined Longwood Blessings as the volunteer fundraising coordinator a year and a half ago, following his retirement from managing real estate offices.
