Today is Public Radio Broadcasting Day!

Early radio broadcasts began in private homes across Europe in the early 20th century, with systems like the Electrophone, Telefon Hírmondó, and Théâtrophone. The first public radio broadcast took place in New York City in 1910, featuring a live opera from the Metropolitan Opera House. Despite facing challenges, radio became a global mass medium by the mid-20th century. With the advent of the internet, radio evolved further with the introduction of internet radio, offering listeners digital streaming options and on-demand content.
