Dear PBHF Friends - We've heard you. Please read below to see an update on lawn chairs and reserved seating at .

Although it is a complete joy to present to you a weekend of terrific music, food, and fun every Labor Day Weekend, it is not without its challenges. The festival continues to evolve as we try to adapt to the changing economic and production landscape, while trying to deliver the best experience possible for the most important part of the festival - YOU, our fans. We appreciate hearing your feedback so that we can best adjust when something does not feel right for you.

In the concert and festival business there has been a strong trend toward reserved seating, as opposed to an open general admission policy. Knowing that most of our fan base does prefer to have a seat while enjoying the amazing artists we bring to town, we wanted to offer that opportunity to our patrons. But we have heard your response, and understand that many of you prefer to bring your own chairs, and would like a lower cost option to do so. As such, we are removing a section of the reserved seating and allowing for chairs to be brought in and set up in GA areas.

Another common request in years past was a lower cost GA ticket, which we are happy to have offered this year. Due to the smaller venue layout at the CEFCU Landing Main Stage, an additional ticket will be required for every chair that is brought into the festival grounds. This will allow us to still offer the lowest cost option to those who prefer to stand. The fee for the chair pass will be $15 for a two day pass or $10 for either individual day. These passes are now available on our site as an add-on to your admission ticket.

As an additional response to your requests, all reserved seating that remains will now include the traditional amenities offered for our VIP program. These amenities include a special commemorative poster, a VIP bar and patio area, express VIP entry, and access to the Kenny's Westside After Parties. Reserved seats will also come with a chair pass, should you choose to bring your own chair to use at the Gateway Stage.

We again thank you for your 34+ years of continued support, and appreciate your help in finding the best approach to producing the quality event you have come to expect over those years. We hope to see you this Labor Day Weekend along the Peoria Riverfront.

Very sad news

It is with heavy hearts that we bear the news that John Mayall passed away peacefully in his California home yesterday, July 22, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Health issues that forced John to end his epic touring career have finally led to peace for one of this world’s greatest road warriors. John Mayall gave us ninety years of tireless efforts to educate, inspire and entertain.

In a 2014 interview with The Guardian, John reflected, “[blues] is about – and it’s always been about – that raw honesty with which [it expresses] our experiences in life, something which all comes together in this music, in the words as well. Something that is connected to us, common to our experiences.” That raw honesty, connection, community and playing of his will continue to affect the music and culture we experience today, and for generations to come.

An appointed OBE (Officer of the British Empire), 2x Grammy-nominated artist and recent inductee to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, John is survived by his 6 children, Gaz, Jason, Red, Ben, Zak and Samson, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also surrounded with love by his previous wives, Pamela and Maggie, his devoted secretary, Jane, and his close friends. We, the Mayall family, cannot thank his fans and long-list of bandmembers enough for the support and love we were blessed to experience secondhand over the last six decades.

John closed that same Guardian interview by reflecting further on the blues, “To be honest, I don’t think anyone really knows exactly what it is. I just can’t stop playing it.” Keep on playing the blues somewhere, John. We love you.

7:15 pm Update:

A Tornado Watch has been issued until 1 am for a large part of central Illinois, from about Havana to Decatur to Danville northward. This replaces the Severe Thunderstorm Watch that had been in effect for some areas earlier. Damaging wind gusts, potentially over 80 mph, and a few tornadoes are the main concerns. Be sure to keep a close eye on the weather this evening, and make sure you have a way to receive warnings if the storms arrive after you go to bed.
