*Car Crash Kills 2 Zimbabwean Salvation Army Leaders Near Gaborone*

A tragic car accident just outside Gaborone on Saturday morning claimed the lives of two Zimbabwean Salvation Army church leaders, Major Sheila Rutanhira and Major Isaiah Motsi, as well as Pretty Tore.

The surviving spouse of Major Motsi, Siphiwe, was fortunate to survive the crash. The leaders had been returning to their post in Botswana after attending a funeral in Zimbabwe. The Salvation Army Zimbabwe issued a statement expressing shock and grief at the loss of these esteemed members.

Siphiwe Motsi is receiving medical attention for injuries to her hand and jaw and is expected to undergo surgery at Mahalapye Hospital. Reads the church’s statement:

_The territory is in shock following the promotion to glory of Major Sheila Rutanhira (DDWM Botswana), Major Isaiah Motsi (Corps Officer Gaborone) and Pretty Tore in a car crash in Ditebe near Gaborone._

_Major Siphiwe Motsi, who survived the accident, is reportedly stable. She has been admitted and is awaiting surgery on her fractured hand and jaw on Monday at Mahalapye Hospital. More details will be released._

Funeral arrangements are forthcoming, with the remains of the deceased set to be repatriated to Zimbabwe.

The cause of the accident was not stated.

*Shakahola Massacre Death Toll Rises To 240, Some Linked To Paul Mackenzie*

The death toll in the Shakahola Forest massacre has risen to 240 after the discovery of two decomposed skeletons linked to Paul Mackenzie on Monday. The authorities are struggling to identify the gender of the skeletons. The forensic team will commence the autopsy of the 123 bodies exhumed in Phase 2.

A Senate committee investigating the proliferation of religious organizations toured the gravesites and found three more bodies, including one wrapped in a Maasai bedsheet. The committee recommended deploying additional personnel to the search and rescue team, regulating freedom of worship, and equipping the nearest police station to serve Shakahola.

Coast Regional boss Rhoda Onyancha said operation is ongoing and the forensic team is expected to commence autopsy of the 123 bodies exhumed in Phase 2.

The Senate Ad hoc committee on proliferation of religious organizations led by Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana was in shock when they saw one of the bodies wrapped up in a Maasai bedsheet. Nation Africa cites him as saying:

_We want to say that even as we are living today, some more bodies were found. We have come face-to-face with the death of our people. We have come face-to-face with skeletons._

_We have also visited a mass grave that, as we are informed, was carrying about 67 people who have been exhumed, and that particular place was called Bethlehem._

The Senate committee investigating the Shakahola Forest massacre also visited Galilaya, the location of Mackenzie’s house. It is alleged that this is where the cult leader implemented punishment and judgment for those who violated his radical teachings.

41 Zimbabwean Border Jumpers Arrested In SA For Illegal Chrome Mining

Forty-one undocumented Zimbabweans were arrested in South Africa for illegal chrome mining.

In a statement, police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the suspects will appear before the Mecklenburg Magistrate’s Court this Thursday. Said Ledwaba:

_The suspects were apprehended during a joint intelligence operation conducted by the members of the Provincial Illegal Mining Task Team, Provincial Organised Crime Unit together with the RR Undercover Security Company at Ga-Phasha village under Sefateng mine jurisdiction in Mecklenburg policing precinct at about 23:30._

_Police received information about illegal mining activities taking place in the area and swiftly reacted. Upon arrival, police found the suspects busy mining a precious metal (chrome) at the mine without authorisation._

_When the suspects saw police, they ran into the nearby bushes and others went inside the self-made tunnels to avoid being nabbed._

_Police confiscated 12 generators and 10 jackhammers all valued at R170 000 as well as chrome ore worth R1 million from the suspects._

Ledwaba said the suspects are all male and aged between 18 and 43. 41 are undocumented Zimbabweans, one is a Mozambican national and there is also a South African citizen.
