RTF is a cultural media platform in a bid to reform the world’s basic social structures, challenging the status quo by promoting thought-provoking and emotive art. We see ourselves as the supervillain ‘hymnists’ of pop-culture. Ours is an outlet to feature the cultural trend-makers today, unveil those fighting against cultural malaise across the planet, and enlighten, through discourse and collabo

rative efforts. We’re based in a small studio in East London and are open to contributions from all life forms in all walks of life.

Exclusive!

The Sasha Knight Animated Book Trailer is here. This is an eagerly anticipated novel, imagine Gone Girl but in Jamaica.

The debut novel by Sean Godfrey picks apart the puzzle left behind when 11-year-old Sasha disappears.

Portraying the perils of toxic masculinity and the damaging effects of emotional trauma, whilst touching on religion and the deep-seated class and colour divide in Jamaican society. This is a genre-bending mashup that shakes the senses and tears at the heart.

Embrace The Spirit of Black Bodies Through Marcia Michael's Lens 📸

Marcia Michael celebrates her closest muse, her mother, who before passing was the source of inspiration for re-imagined family archival photos, telling a tender story of the lives often erased from Black British history

"My mother accepting my photographs of me representing her body, is my proudest moment of seeing a vision realised... she would show strangers these images of herself, which she walked with in her handbag."

“It’s not easy going through public humiliation”: Abigail Asante opens up to Timi Sotire in this exclusive interview 💛🙌

Abigail’s solo releases prove that her soul can never be shaken even though this brazenness stems from an unforgiving experience in the industry. “I never faced any colourism in my life until I came into the limelight”, Abigail says.

When she and Vanessa released the video for the ‘The Situation’, Abigail instantly noticed the negative reception regarding her appearance.

Our story

For those that influence popular culture.

Reform The Funk is an independent cultural platform created in a bid to reform basic social structures, challenging the status quo by promoting thought-provoking and emotive art. Ours is an outlet to feature the cultural taste-makers today, unveil those fighting against cultural malaise across the planet, and enlighten, through discourse and collaborative efforts. The aim of the space is to provide a narrative that differs to traditional storytelling which often doesn’t represent culture in its true respect.

In typical mainstream media, many taste-makers are forgone, despite having a huge influence and presence in their respective communities, if they are yet to be labelled as popular or trendy. In contrast, this platform's purpose is to provide a genuine insight into inspiring people worldwide, regardless of their prevalence.

Reform The Funk delivers in-depth content which can serve as a cultural reference for ideas and inspiration. A platform for tastemakers – Reform The Funk – for those who influence popular culture.
