This quote from Bruce Lee is one of my all-time favorites! To me, it's a reminder to live my life to the fullest and continue to seek out amazing adventures. To become immortal. His wisdom never gets old! 🌟

"As you think, so shall you become." ~ Bruce Lee

Sometimes in order to take actionable steps to better ourselves. We must first change the way we think.

⚡️If you think that you'll never be able to afford to go on adventures... then you never will.

⚡️If you think that you'll never be able to lose weight and get into fantastic shape... then your health won't improve.

⚡️If you think that you have no chance of succeeding with the business that you want to build... then you will surely fail.

⚡️If you think that you'll never be good enough to get that promotion in your career... then you'll never move up.

A few years ago before I set off to thru-hike across the entire state of Michigan. There were moments when thoughts of whether or not I could do it tried to creep into my head. I quickly shoved those thoughts aside. I had to believe in myself that I could do it. And I had to hold on to that belief throughout the trek. Especially during the very difficult moments. Otherwise, there would've been no way that I could've walked 1,200 miles over three and a half months.

It's fine to acknowledge how difficult attaining something might be. But follow it up by believing that you can do it. Then come up with a plan of attack. And be relentlessly consistent in the ex*****on of that plan!

Never tell me the odds. And don't allow others to tell you them either.

⚡️The odds of making it through Boot Camp and earning the title of United States Marine probably aren't great... but I did it.

⚡️The odds of winning a cage fight by knockout in under a minute in the first round probably aren't great... but I did it.

⚡️The odds completing a 1,200-mile thru-hike across the state of Michigan during the fall and winter probably aren't great... but I did it.

⚡️The odds of running a 31-mile ultramarathon at age 38 probably aren't great... but I did it.

Regardless of what the odds might've been for getting through any of the adventures that I've embarked on. There have been two common denominators that have led to success:

1. The courage to try in the first place.
2. Consistent hard work to continue to move forward.

Every journey in life is going to come with obstacles. But as long as you have to courage to face them and you keep moving forward. Eventually you will reach your destination!

Solo traveling is one of the best things that I've done for my own self- development! ✈️🌎

By traveling to different places around the world by myself, I've...

⚡️Enhanced my problem solving and decision making skills.

⚡️Become more flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and environments.

⚡️Learned to keep a level head during stressful situations that I may face.

⚡️Established better ways to communicate with others by engaging with different cultures.

⚡️Created lasting memories that I can use to help and inspire others.

And this is definitely not and exhaustive list! Solo traveling offers a plethora of amazing growth opportunities that will enhance your life. This is why I encourage all of you to get out here and see the world for yourself. And this is also why I will soon be offering services to help you do just that! Stay tuned! 🧳🌍

As we kick off 2025, I'd like to remind you of something... you're going to die. No, that's not a threat, I'm just speaking matter-of-factly. Death eventually comes for us all. And we only get one shot at life. There's no reset button.

Therefore, I believe that it's imperative that we live our lives to the absolute fullest! Life is an adventure that's meant to be lived. Though I know that it isn't always easy to embark on adventures that you want to go on. Fear, financial concerns, getting time off work, family obligations, and other factors can hold us back. And believe me, I've been there. But as the saying goes (and I'm not sure where I've heard this! 😅)... I will find a way, or I will make one. With this mindset, I've found ways to live abroad twice, cycle across an entire country, hike across the entire state of Michigan, and go on other incredible adventures!

Father Time waits for no one. And I want you to find some amazing adventures during the limited time that you have on this planet. So get out there and get after it!

New episode on The All-Around Adventure Podcast! For this episode, I'm joined retired Air Force fighter pilot, Jason Cooper. Call sign, CAS.

Click the link in my bio to listen to the full episode on your favorite podcast directory and watch the video on YouTube!

CAS found a love for aviation at a young age and he earned his private pilots license at age 17. This passion led him to pursue a degree at the University of Washington so he could apply for a pilot slot with the Air Force. After a long and arduous selection and training process, CAS found himself in the cockpit of the F-16 Viper. Since then he's conducted over 2,000 hours of flying time in the F-16. He also served as an instructor for the Air Force's Weapons School, as well as a Commander of the 425th Fighter Squadron. Now CAS shares the lessons that he's learned with others on the Be 1 Change 1 Podcast, alongside co-host, fellow fighter pilot, and guest on The All-Around Adventure Podcast, Paul "Roscoe" White.

In this episode, CAS tells us about his early days as a pilot and what it's like to head skyward in a plane by yourself. He also talks about mindset and what was necessary in order to make it through the long training pipeline to become a fighter pilot. Furthermore, we have a great discussion on why striving for something and being told "no" is better than not trying at all and having to ask yourself "what if?".

On this day three years ago, I completed a 1,200-mile thru-hike across the entire state of Michigan! I also raised over $10,000 for a non-profit that helps my fellow Veterans!

I loved how free I felt out on the North Country Trail! And being excited to wake up each morning to see what the day's adventure had in store for me! Reflecting on the whole experience is also a good reminder for me of what I'm capable of! And that I can achieve amazing things by consistently putting one foot in front of the other!

Romania Trip: Day 1 - Snagov Monastery

This monastery was established in the early 15th century and is situated on a small island in Lake Snagov. Which is just north of Bucharest, the capital. It's supposedly the final resting place of Vlad the Impaler. And there is a tomb on the inside in front of the alter. However, archaeological investigations done during the 1930s didn't recover any remains. One theory for this is that his remains were stolen and moved somewhere else. Another theory is that the swampy conditions of the island led to quick decomposition and nothing is left.

Either way, it was a cool place to visit. It was also quiet and not crowded and the lake was beautiful. This was a great spot to start off my trip in Romania!
