ALL-DAYER 2023!!!
We are celebrating 6 years of the festival this September 9th 2023, with a one day blowout! We've streamlined our annual 3-day fest into an all day party with some of our faves from near and far! Something for everyone, and only the best!
We'll be back filling our beloved The Old Hairdressers, with all the same energy you have come to love from the Freakender crew!

Fruit Tones are back! Ripe & ready to roll again with their self-recorded
sophomore LP 'Pink Wafer Factory' dropping November 2022 on Alien
Sn**ch! Records (Berlin) and Fuzzkill Records cassette.
Self recorded, produced and mixed in their Manchester practice room during covid lockdowns and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring) ‘Pink Wafer Factory’ is the highly anticipated result of over a years worth of isolated jiving, collective commitment to “keeping on chooglin” and an unstoppable love for timeless rock n roll.

The first album optimism makes way for a more mature, fully developed piece of work and brings their tongue-in-cheek, born-to-lose sass right to forefront.
“I’m sick and tired of waking up, so I don’t go to bed” they chant on “I’ll Be Glad”, whilst slowing things down to jam over that deep fried ‘Loaded’ era VU choogle. “It’s about doing what you love despite the odds being stacked against you, knowing you’ll be happy even if it’s a complete failure” says band leader Tom Harrison.

Lead single, 'Back In The Night (Again)’ is Fruit Tones doing what they do best - the steam-rollin-mondo-garage-thud, ripping bass, blown-out early rock & roll licks, their now legendary playful stop-starts and that vocal howl backed up by gang choruses from drummer Tomas Walmsley and bassist CJ Wood.

We're only a few days away from Freakender 2022! It's suddenly here! Our 5th birthday! finally! so many good bands all under the one roof!

We are celebrating 5 years of the festival this September 17th 2022, with a one day blowout! We're condensing our annual 3-day fest into 12 hours of hot and spicy new music to lose your s**t to!

It's been two years since we did this, it should be our 7th Party, but hey, we've had to get through a lot to be here!

- Grand Opening release party~~~
The rat is outta the bag, the goose is loose 🐀 🦆 💥

To commemorate the release of Grand Opening, we thought we'd hold one of our own alongside some trusted business associates.

We welcome CHAMPAYNE and TOWN CRUISE all the way from the Delicious Clam in Sheffield, as well as Manchester heartstoppers BONES SHAKE, and a couple of new mutants on the scene by the name of HUP.
