Have you got a garden or area of land you'd like to turn into a flower-filled sustainable haven for pollinators?
Then make sure you take a look at the work of local garden designer Catherine Froggatt.
Catherine has sustainability at the heart of her work. She uses local nurseries in Kent, is mindful of the environmental footprint of the materials, process and plants she uses, considers wildlife and biodiversity from the very start of the process and will always recommend plants which attract pollinators.
You don’t need to have the ideas, or know what the plants are called. During the design process, Catherine will work with you to create a unique garden that is inspired by your vision, and provides a sanctuary for humans and wildlife.

⚓️ Ramsgate’s own Royal Harbour is now a national heritage harbour! ⚓️
As of this summer, Ramsgate Harbour has gained National Heritage status. Our Grade II listed Royal Harbour- the only one of its kind in the world- was granted its royal status by King George IV in 1821. Today, it seamlessly blends its rich maritime legacy with the bustling activities of a modern harbor and a vibrant café scene along the waterfront. From windfarm operations to the RNLI station, shipbuilders, and the local fishing fleet, the Royal Harbour stands as a testament to its historic past. It is also home to historic vessels like the steam tug Cervia and the trawler Starbuck, as well as hosting notable ships such as the Bessie Ellen and The Blue Mermaid.
To mark the Royal Harbour’s new Heritage Harbour status, Ramsgate will be hosting a series of events as part of Heritage Open Days from 6-15th September 2024. Visitors can expect talks, tours, workshops, guided walks, and a special exhibition showcasing maritime artifacts. This celebration will offer a unique opportunity to explore parts of the harbor not usually accessible to the public.
Join in the festivities and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Ramsgate’s Royal Harbour.
For more information and event listings, visit www.heritageopendays.org.uk/whats-on/search-2024-events.html (search for “Ramsgate”). All Heritage Open Day events are free to attend.
