Prayer warriors: keep up our Pluto in your prayers as he’s facing acute liver failure and fighting. Keep our family, especially Angelica in your prayers for peace through this difficult time as we are struggling to accept this situation. We still trust in the healing over of prayer and know he is in God’s hands. Thanks to the whole village of friends lifting us up! Pray his bilirubin comes down, and that his liver biopsy gives us answers.

Happy 16th birthday to my darling Daisy! Thanks to God for allowing us to have you this long❤️ still loves to eat, dig, and is able to do her business independently. 5 months ago I thought she was leaving us because I discovered an internal abdominal mass and her mobility was worsening. Then I tried Líbrela and she has enjoyed her life a lot more since. I know that she won’t live forever but I will take each day as a precious gift 🎁.

I’m so grateful for all the lessons of 2023. From the loss of my beloved father, adopting Panchito, many career accomplishments, starting a Christian Veterinary Mission chapter, becoming ( along my daughter Victoria) a Polk Co Jail volunteer, a Hospice Volunteer and achieving the Chaplain certification. Finding a home at Highpoint Church, building my faith through my home fellowship group at Linaje de Adonay, and delighting in my family.
I’m starting this New Year by serving in a Christian mission in Nicaragua. Please pray for our safety and that we get to help thousands of animals and that we can touch many with the gospel.

This is an alarming statistic ! All I wanted to do since 7 was to be a vet and save animals and I know that’s a common story across the industry. It is so sad that our profession is suffering the loss of veterinarians due to compassion fatigue, burnout, and mental illness. I pray we figure it out soon ❤️

We received a one star review complaining about our dental estimates being higher than other places. I rather give a worst case scenario with multiple complicated extractions than have to call mid procedure to shock the clients with the extra work or worse yet have to postpone the work and put the pet under anesthesia another day if I don’t get verbal permission on time because they don’t answer. 95% of the time we come close or under the lower end of estimate but on occasions we get surprised! We do a complete oral assessment, probing , charting and X-rays. In the example below after cleaning a tooth yesterday, it appeared perfect yet the X-rays show severe bone loss and infection in the root highlighted. That is a procedure that needs sectioning the crown, carefully extracting the roots +\- adding bone implants and doing a gingival flap. In simpler words: dentals are like a box of chocolates , you never know what you are going to get!

Pluto is feeling very judgmental about those who abuse fireworks and start using them from the 1-6th without considering his noise phobia. Thankfully we got supplements, Trazadone and 2 white noise machines to get him through. Wildlife, ptsd veterans and many pets would love if we as a nation switched to silent fireworks as a rule!
