As a huge fan of M*A*S*H, it was a great honour for me to meet and work with Loretta Swit on her London stage debut in The Va**na Monologues at the Arts Theatre at the end of 2001. RIP Margaret 'Hot Lips' Houlihan.

And now George Wendt has passed. I took him to lots of interviews when he was in ART in the West End in 1998. He was always lovely and courteous. I remember how excited Chris Evans and Danny Baker were when he appeared on TFI Friday (remember ?). They drank and chatted on the roof ages after filming. I thought I'd never get home! Cheers, George, you were much loved.

I'm so very sad to hear of the death of Val Kilmer. I liked him very much when we did the PR for The Postman Always Rings Twice in the West End. He was charming and a pleasure to work with and, like so many big US movie stars, he understood that doing press interviews was part of the job. He never complained. This photo was taken at the press junket he did for us. He was also damn sexy in the role! 65 is far too young to die. So sad.

There will never be another Edwin Shaw. As the saying goes, they broke the mould... He will always be 'Lord' Shaw to me - how he didn't get a knighthood at the very least, I'll never know. One memory, from so many, was the second press night of Chitty at the Palladium. I was running the press desk and Edwin was there just to make sure I had everything I needed (that's the sort of man he was). They didn't open the house and people started to get antsy, because no announcements were being made. People kept coming up to me to ask what was happening and I had no idea. Some people got pretty nasty and Edwin stood with me to give me support (not his job, but he wasn't going to leave me to shoulder the abuse on my own). Eventually, they had to cancel the performance, because there were technical problems with the car and some people were absolutely vile. It was me, Edwin and all the young ushers and usherettes taking the abuse. Edwin could have left us to it, but he stayed until the end. He was a true gentleman. I loved him so much. He had such insight when it came to selling a show and years of wonderful stories. What a sad loss for theatre, but he'll be having them all in stitches up in heaven! God bless, Lord Shaw.

This one has upset me. When at Peter Thompson's, we did the press for Peter's Friends and the musical Radio Times, both of which starred Tony Slattery. Such a brilliant mind and so funny. And a sweet soul. Very, very sad.
