Stay centered - This involves taking time to interact with yourself and your higher power, to live in the present, to relax and enjoy what you are doing at each moment and having an appreciation for the good things in our lives and being grateful for them.

Mindfulness or meditation can help deepen these in our lives. The ability to focus one’s mind and calm oneself are important life skills. We all need some time to regenerate ourselves. How do you center yourself?

Know your hashtags. It can be a challenge on Twitter to pull the conversation together and see what’s being discussed about important healthcare issues. The Healthcare Hashtag Project (http://www.symplur.com/healthcare-hashtags/) is an essential resource
for discovering the hashtags associated with issues impacting medicine as well as the people using them to bring the topics to life. It’s a great tool for finding thought leaders in clinical areas that interest you.

Understand your audience. If curating is your objective, be mindful of the channel you’re using. Unless you’ve set up a Facebook account exclusively for professional use, chances are your audience is largely friends and family — not necessarily the crowd that’s interested in those posts you shared about the newest JAMA study. Twitter and LinkedIn offer better opportunities to share your curated findings with the right audience.

Learn from others — and pass it on. The prominent story format online is the “tips list.” It works so well because its intent is clear: quick, bite-sized nuggets of knowledge. On March 30, 1958, Congress adopted a resolution commemorating March 30 as National Doctors' Day after the movement gained traction in the medical community after its creation in 1933. In 1990, President George H.W. Bush designated National Doctors Day an official day of recognition by the US government.

Members don't have to attend the AMA Alliance Annual Meeting in Nashville IN PERSON to become a part of something greater and get elected to the AMA Alliance Board!

Elections will take place this year during the VIRTUAL PORTION of the annual meeting May 21 and 22. The new board will be installed at the in-person portion of the annual meeting in Nashville May 31-June 2, 2024.

We often think of growth as expanding our dreams, goals, and expectations, but in certain seasons of life, growth can be be experienced by reducing expectations of yourself, and others.

Your goals, dreams, and "someday" wishes will still be there, just give yourself grace about what is realistically achievable. Accept help from others, and when your situation changes, you can offer help to others!
